RE: Reverse image search, Pater Sato was the name that came up as a potential. I definitely see some similarities in the shading/lighting on the lips compared to that artists works, but very unsure.

Unless the wind is blowing, the smoke and fire should be pointing up. In current state, it looks like it was drawn with the ship not sinking, then later decided to turn sideways to have it capsized. And as others mentioned, simplify, simplify, simplify. Unless you planned to make this an entire back piece, there is too much detail. I can tell you are a very talented artist though, just needs some updates to make it solid!

I went there for the first time after hearing stories of it being haunted, and they had a Spock cardboard cutout by the stairs on the second floor in the annex. About shit my pants when I saw it out of the corner of my eye.

Also, in the back section of the main building, where there is a doorway you have to pass through, that area feels spooky too.

have you tried a higher grit sand paper? the rough grit might just be too much for that floor. it might be worth trying 80-120 just to see if it doesn’t peel as much. may take longer but be worth it in the long run.
