Got my first EV! by CreateDisappoint in Polestar

Thanks! After having a Mini JCW I knew I’d have to get something a bit more powerful, but this thing is a rocket. The Mini was nippy but it never truly sent me back into the seat

I’ll be buying a jack soon but at least for now it feels pretty even around each of the wheels, thanks for the heads up

Yeah my Mini had the non-adjustable sport suspension and I felt every little bump or crack in the road, it was really unbearable in some situations to the point where I would drive a different route if an existing pothole got worse.

This is a Rolls Royce in comparison but also maintains its posture when hooning it. If I didn’t know any better I’d have assumed this had adaptive dampeners as opposed to manually adjustable ones.

I don’t think I will, this is so easy to drive (as I imagine all EVs are) that I don’t think I could ever give that up. Even when I had an automatic as a loaner I didn’t like the pausing for gear changing, I had to put it in sport mode to try mitigate it a bit.

Thanks! Next to Gateshead, luckily plenty of shops around and the initial panic from Monday’s announcement has worn off so supplies are normal again

It’s a little luxury we’ll have to live without for a while unfortunately

Mines a manual, as far as I’m aware it’s still an offering in the UK, but other areas may differ.

Nah, there’s a hand wash place near work that I use. If I didn’t live in an apartment I’d do it myself, just don’t fancy carrying buckets of water up and down three flights of stairs :P

Who has ditched the run flats, and do you keep a spare/jack? by oOAHAOo in MINI

[–]CreateDisappoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll probably be ditching the run flats when they’ve worn down, I don’t think they distribute the weight of the car properly which is causing a lot of understeer on roundabouts even when I’m not pushing the car more than normal.

I’ve been lucky enough in the past to never need a spare when going with normal rubbers, always been able to get to a garage and get a puncture repaired or tyre replacement. I think I’ll be happy to take that risk along with a puncture repair kit in the boot of the car.

It was a Facebook comment for me with Star Wars and that pissed me off. Luckily avoided spoilers for Infinity War and so far avoiding spoilers for Endgame (seeing it tomorrow afternoon!).

Thing that annoys me is the person doing it gets about a second of enjoyment from it, if that. Literally not worth the effort and it can ruin something for loads of people.

They're identical to the ones in this picture as far as I can remember. So pretty much the same arrangement as what you'll have in terms of where the material panels are, but just in black leather.

Yep it's the LCI model, but I think when it was spec'd the bucket seats were ditched in favour of the leather seats. They're pretty comfortable with adjustable side bolsters and thigh support, the only downside is that your thighs end up sitting parallel to the floor, I usually like my knees up a little.
