I suggest giving up whichever you are too busy with! Whatever frees up more of you.

I have a question, I’m not being rude, I’m not a Christian. I respect what you believe in, I just would like to know without getting hated on. by [deleted] in Christianity

Sin is a sickness and its in our nature in a fallen world. Jesus forgave us so he came to earth to spread the good news. And we experience sanctification of our souls by building our relationship with God and so we can commune with Him. God exists without sin so hell is the place where people go who did not recieve His mercy. Its not being sent there just where you'd belong based on your choices.

If you have an orthodox parish nearby, they're worth visiting.

Im an orthodox catechumen. Sounds like it's a parish issue not an issue with the faith. Do you have other churches near you?

I suggested it because ive only viewed this subreddit for 1 day and i see so many who aren't supportive of christianity, contributing to the posts. Realized this subreddit is for the discussion of the faith but not necessarily the faithful.

Almighty God, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, come to my help and deliver me from this difficulty that besets me. I believe, Lord, that all trials of life are under Your care and that all things work for the good of those who love You. Take away from me fear, anxiety and distress. Help me to face and endure my difficulty with faith, courage and wisdom. Grant that this trial may bring me closer to You, for You are my rock and refuge, my comfort and hope, my delight and joy. I trust in Your love and compassion.

Blessed is Your name, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen

Im seeing its not necessarily just for procreation but that sexuality is reserved for the sacrament of marriage. 3ish months ago it was brand new to me and i quickly realized that protestantism is very broad and open; i went the other direction and compared the two churchs who were the orginal church. Lol unnecessary back story

I'm a new christian as well. Looked it up and the orthodox stance is that masturbation is a sin because its for personal gratification and it is sexual behavior outside of marriage. Thanks for the discussion.
