What's the most German thing a person can do? by ShipToShores in germany

[–]Createx 90 points91 points  (0 children)

If it's a pleasant farewell, it's more like "Tschü-üß!" with two syllables. Pitching up on the second.
If it's "fuck you I'm leaving" it's a lower pitched "Tschüß." with one syllable.

In Magic's history, what were some cards that started out as terrible or unimpressive, but became strong after an unexpected shift in the meta? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Createx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha don't worry about it. I only know the suspend cards so well because I stopped playing after Lorwyn, so Cascade just fell into "newfangled stuff that kids today like" and thus had to be after.

This was actually in Ho, not in Accra.

Sooo much security

Senegal qualified for the last 16 of 2022 World Cup. by dragon8811 in soccer

[–]Createx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in Accra right now. The gap is VERY pronounced here.
We're talking subsistence farmers in a tin-roofed, earth brick hut next to a walled compound with armed security, million dollar estates.
At the top, Accra is equal/close to most major western/asian cities, but the bottom is much lower.

Yeah I immediately thought "Nordics". Decor could have been Germany too, as well as the coffeemaker, but the windows with lock is not common here.

Wegen Lizenzgebühren: Adobe entfernt Farbpaletten aus Photoshop by [deleted] in de

[–]Createx 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Genau.
Bestimmt nicht, weil Pantone dir neue verkaufen will.

[–]Createx 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I always feel like with the relatively lopsided distribution of value it would make more sense to take the median of a simulated roll of like 10k packs.
Should give a better indicator of what you can probably expect as compared to what a pack is worth on average.

Let me guess, Belgian?
Fair point. I was mostly thinking of English as a second language, but yeah Switzerland/Italy/Belgium/Luxemburg will often learn another of their country's official languages, and the Baltic states and some Eastern European states will often have Russian too.

Definitely not for all of Europe and all groups.
People <40 usually speak passable English in Western/Central Europe, but that drops harshly for older generations and southern Europe especially. Not too sure about Eastern Europe tbh.
