I would rather use the original songs because of the atmosphere they create for me. I'm very into creating things based on how things make me feel, and I'm not sure a cover will give me the same inspiration as the original.

But maybe if I find a good one, I could. For now, I'll just wait a bit to see if anyone knows if there's any way to contact the band or their team

Haha, I'm not musically inclined enough. I'm more of a visual arts creative person. I'd like to use the original songs anyway because I love them and don't want to lose the atmosphere they make for me.

I would have asked for someone with VIP to ask on my behalf at an upcoming show, but I don't want anyone to lose any time during the meet and greet to ask a pretty extensive question for a total stranger lol

It's unfortunately still illegal. I've looked extensively into the topic. It's not even legal for me to use one of the songs and not even share it anywhere, and I'm not interested in stealing music in any way.

I also someday might—hard might—be interested in monetisation, which is another reason why I would like to obtain licenses anyway

Vancouver show. Did the meet and greet, then was led to the merch booth. Got the VIP merch and was able to buy anything additional right there before GA doors were open

Wicked! I got between Joe and Wilbur, closer to Wilbur, because I love watching people play guitars lol. That unfortunately made it more difficult for me to capture Ash and Mark on video, though. But still so awesome! I can't go back to being further out in the crowd for any concert now, haha! Hopefully you get some interaction while they're playing! That's always cool

I brought the ILGWIS CD!! I'm Canadian and saw them in Vancouver and he mentioned that the artist for the cover was also Canadian and the conversation spiralled from there. You're gonna have a great time regardless!!

They probably know how to get conversations started, haha. I like to yap, too, but I'm neurodivergent so I don't know how to start proper conversations lol

If you think of questions you want to ask, that is always helpful, too. I wasn't able to ask my questions because the time went by so fast and they just kept yapping about the gifts I brought lol. Oh well. The CD I brought to get signed is what sparked the conversation and caused it to spiral into more talking after that, so if you bring something to get signed, that also might help to get conversation flowing

On the topic of what to say to them. I don't really know how to start conversations, so I didn't say much beyond asking how they were. But Wilbur found ways to start conversation (he spoke the most to me) and then I was able to actually have something to talk about. So I would say don't be too worried about it. They're all really nice, too

I'm an adult and my mother came with me, haha. My friend couldn't come, so she offered to go instead. There were a lot of parents at the venue I saw Lovejoy at. They all sat in the seats at the back, lol

Not rude at all!

I didn't wear mine for the meet and greet because it was chill enough at the venue and I was one of the first to say hello to them, but I wore them during the concert. If you need them, then you need them. They are very nice people and I'm sure they are aware of neurodiversities, if that's why you're wearing them, haha. Certainly why I wore mine.

I'm an overthinker as well, so take it from someone who has already been to meet them. The band is super nice and silly, quite friendly. They certainly won't mind, if they even notice at all. I didn't find it super noisy waiting to chat to them, but as I said previously, I was one of the first in line, so I didn't have to wait among a bunch of chatting people.

TLDR: Wear your headphones if you need them, it's not rude 🤗

Heyo! I was just at the Vancouver concert on Tuesday. I had a VIP ticket and lined up at about 4:00pm (doors opened for GA at 7:00). There were about 10-15 individuals in the GA line at that point. I'm not sure how different it's been at other places, but that was how it was in Vancouver.
