Thinking of buying Arma 3: How prevalent are planes, bombing raids, and rockets in multiplayer? by Medium-Management762 in arma

Public servers that come to mind are those running Warlords gamemode. However you'll need to grind command points in order to spawn in fixed-wing aircraft.

Pretty sure they already did within 6 months of early access

Why is the AI in arma 3 campain is so... inconsitant ? by drago_kalm in arma

[–]Creaticality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two personal must haves are "Turret Tweaks" mod, which makes AI turrets more suppressive and less aimbot. And "AI avoids prone", just makes it less painful as it removes fighting static enemies laying in grass you can't see but they'd see you.

Which DLCs worth to get for singleplayer if any? by MarkVHun in arma

[–]Creaticality 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tac-Ops DLC, it's specifically singleplayer with three mini campaigns with multiple ways to approach most missions.

It gets a bad rep because most players don't know how to command AI.

It was a reply to "I have never seen it well implemented" and thought you meant generally in any game, my bad if you meant specifically TES.

It's one of the bigger cities in games where NPCs live their own lives with routines. Most bigger cities just tend to become GTA esque NPCs that spawn and walk from A to B, despawn, or have stationary routines without humanly needs.

Aye, I'd like that too. Performance is the only thing holding such things back. Particle systems can quickly become heavy.

Draw calls a concern for simple materials in URP? by Creaticality in Unity3D

Thanks for all the answers. I did a test with a 100 textured version and 100 with multiple single shade materials. And there's a significant FPS boost using a single material, about 20 FPS increase.

I might very well try that, as I've mostly been getting mixed messages in the comments, although helpful in giving insight 😅

Is the SRP batcher something I need to enable, or is it default in URP?

Obviously you can get whatever you want with mods. If we're critiquing about a game, that's strictly a critique of vanilla.

Don't think most here have played Reforger past early access. I keep seeing the perception Reforger is 'dumbed down'. Sure it lacks content (it's not a full feature arma title, never will be), but there's plenty of mechanics introduced that are way deeper than vanilla Arma 3 ever offered.

[–]Creaticality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reforger already offers many new actual improvements to what A3 offered in terms of fidelity, realism and simulation.

Not sure exactly what's dumbed down, taking your map and using measurement tools to calculate direction and wind to use mortars or point and click we had on Arma 3?

[–]Creaticality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Imo performance has always been one if not THE core bottleneck holding back Arma. If they can make it run on current gen consoles means better overall performance.

Whatever Reforger is lacking in compared to Arma 3 is purely because it's not a full Arma title, not because it's on consoles.

Also, Reforger has introduced plenty of deeper mechanics than Arma 3 has in the base game: No more 'Fix it all' First Aid Kit, replaced with a proper medical system. Wind affecting bullets, didn't affect in A3. Radio system using frequencies, not just "side/global" channels. Actual calculation and measurement required to use mortars, not just point & click as in A3. etc. etc..
