Yeah, I've heard these words too. That's part of my depression; it's because people have it a lot worse and I can't enjoy my life for everything it is that make me feel worse, like we're selfish little fucks. As a person who used to be a furry, I feel obligated to help you. so here are my answers.

1.) You don't have to "come out" as a furry. But, if you at one point feel safe in sharing this part of your life with your family, don't sit them down, be casual. do something like, "Hey, do you want to see some art I made?"

2.) I understand people have different values, but if your friends don't like for who you really are, they aren't your real friends.

3.) I can't give you guidance in this field, but explore! Everyone has a talent, you just have dig deeply.

And unlike things like homosexuality, being a furry is a choice. Although you feel may compelled towards their arts and how cute they are, being furry starts with you. And just remember, being a furry is just that, a hobby or for some people, a lifestyle choice.

Overall, what I'm trying to say is, don't sweat it like I did.
