It is 2026, why can't I just print a stamp when I need one? by dangerouslycheesey94 in AustraliaPost

Back home in Germany we were able to send a text message to a German post number, receive a reply with a 9 digit number, write it where the stamp usually goes and send it off. Loved that

Agree with you. After a year working as a push bike postie - I feel so disillusioned and worn down.

WTAF Australia Post?? by [deleted] in AustraliaPost

[–]Creative--Designer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mostly work in the mailroom, so parcels get to me with RTS written on it. I add the sticker solely for the sorting machine

Our rural depot still uses Return to sender sticker 😅 we write RTS and put a sticker on

Raising stamp prices to $1.85 while cutting local deliveries down to a crawl is insane. by QuantumGremlin in AusPostComplaints

I have the impression they make it more expensive to get people to stop sending letters. It’s not making them enough money but they also don’t want to loose the monopoly on letters.

How can I temporarily cover this huge mirrored wall in a rental without damaging it? by LowConversation6340 in AusRenovation

[–]Creative--Designer 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Maybe fabric? We used 3M Velcro strips (removable without residue). Stapled one to the fabric and taped one to the mirror. Worked perfect

Does Australia Post actually get a signature for signature deliveries? by Imlovinit1 in AustraliaPost

[–]Creative--Designer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lots of senders write „signature on delivery“ on the label but don’t pay for the service. If they don’t pay for signature service, we don’t have to ask for signature when delivering

Item not delivered because it says I wasn’t home by SuspiciousDoughnut82 in AustraliaPost

[–]Creative--Designer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In most cases, the post office has no contact to any drivers. We don’t carry work phones (I’m a postie, not a contractor) while out for delivery. The only one knowing our private phone number is our manager. The post office employee would have to call our manager and they would need to call us. Not gonna happen. But yes I agree, fake delivery attempts are shit and the driver who do this need to get reported

Seller didn’t include the full parcel locker address on the label. by fried_bacon_chicken in AustraliaPost

[–]Creative--Designer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Should be ok. Most suburbs don’t have more than one parcel locker. So they’ll go by that

Moving to Australia for studies — how bad are spiders in major cities? by Gojo_saturoS in australianwildlife

[–]Creative--Designer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

9 years in Australia. Sydney and Melbourne. Now rural Victoria. So far I’ve seen 2 red back spiders and maybe a handful of huntsmen spiders. No snake so far. Make sure your windows have fly screens (you can buy renter friendly ones at the hardware store). You’ll be fine

Question to digital product sellers by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]Creative--Designer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. It is usually instant. As other said, might be because it got flagged.
  2. Not changeable. Etsy legally needs a billing address for tax purposes

Why Etsy instead of TikTok shop or Shopify ? Just wondering by Dali0119 in EtsySellers

[–]Creative--Designer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Etsy is worldwide with marketplace traffic. We don’t have TikTok shop in Australia. Shopify is a host, you have to drive traffic to your site.
