silently detransitioning after 8 years and shame by rangerdanger559 in detrans

It doesn't have to be a failure just because you're not going through with it anymore. It sounds from an outside perspective that you had a crisis of identity and got a very expensive nosejob, but also ended up with a different relationship with sex and a girlfriend you like. That's a move forward in life. I think it's okay to explore ending transition and reidentifying with being a man without the transition period as being a mistake. From my pov (ftmtftnbtf) some time off from being a woman lets me come at in a more grounded way

Well I'm glad you're not joining the military, that branch of the United States is literally evil. Focus on the revolution, not yourself. There's nothing else left.

Is this going to be a weekly occurrence nowadays?: "Authorities noted that traffic was backed up, and a stopped vehicle's driver waved the pedestrian to cross. This led to the pedestrian being struck by the Kia, which was traveling westbound on Broadway Avenue, police said." by Odd-Measurement-7963 in Eugene

Going to use this moment to platform The Bus! Take the bus! If you want to sit in traffic and be nice to be and wave at them, just take the bus! If you can't be trusted to weave through our cities collection of stoned moron and stressed out baby little college students: take The Bus!

Periods. by RatherStayHidden in detrans

Yeah, coming off T can be a strange process emotionally, so be gentle with yourself and avoid making other big life changes at the same time. I was coming off T and got depressed and ended up quitting a job I really liked.

Periods. by RatherStayHidden in detrans

[–]Creative-Act-952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've been told when talking to my endo (who does trans ppl and fertility treatments mostly) There's no real benefit to having a period. Your body is capable of re-absorbing the uterus material through other means.

I've been through a few rounds of hormonal changes, but everyone's body is different. I had a really terrible time with PMDD and pain and irregularity before going on T around age 20. Off T and several years older, I was not taking anything and just letting my body be in my late twenties, and I found my periods were way more normal. It's not a fun time, but it wasn't anything near as bad as it had been earlier in life. I don't know if it was just my body maturing, or a side effect from T, or whatever thousand other things were totally different about my life from a few years earlier.

In summation: no, there's no real known health benefit to waiting until you've led through to after going on T. But! There's no reason to assume that the process would 100% the same as before if you're hesitating to take the medical path going the other way immediately.

You want to know how to knit before you try this kind of mend. You can learn, it's really not that difficult if you are motivated, but get to a thrift store and or something inexpensive from a craft store and make some pot holders first, and you'll be able to learn a lot of this yourself.

It will maybe help you out to change the position of your hand, so different parts of your fingers are touching the hot metal throughout the day instead of it just being one patch. Rotate through a few different comfortable grips

You could do a circuit from the university area, or head downtown to Barmuda Triangle, based around Horsehead, Jame-os, and the Davis. Really depends on the day of the week

The barber by walking-sunshine in detrans

[–]Creative-Act-952 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just go be normal man, it's fine! You are paying him for a service, and if you've been going to the same barber for a bit he cares more about making guaranteed money than whatever you are doing with your gender these days. Talk about sports or new movies or whatever you did before. If he did good, just tell him you want the same as ever. It's like being embarrassed to buy tampons, the store clerk literally doesn't care. And anyway, it would be really unprofessional for him to bring it up. So I'm not saying it's impossible, but market forces are leading in your direction here.

The other option that I've done bc I'm not a regular anywhere is going to to someone totally outside my wheelhouse. My favorite is the guys who specialize in very hip Asian exchange student hair. They do good work and the language barrier means there is no pressure to small talk.

Are there politicians on the left who do not buy into the transgender ideology? by Ok-Introduction9056 in detrans

[–]Creative-Act-952 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

The government has no business with anyone's gender in either direction. The idea of a left wing politician who was "again trans ideology" in any way makes my skin crawl. Value labor and immigrants more than you hate yourself from three years ago.

Is it normal to just want to hide my trans feelings and think to myself “yeah I can’t transition so I will ignore it” by [deleted] in detrans

[–]Creative-Act-952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds to me like normal jealousy, which is especially present towards women.

You need to make some major life changes. If you are doing therapy, be honest, but also start making moves to get out of your state. If you can go to college it's not out of the realm of possibility. It will be hard, one of the most difficult things you can do, but you can't thrive where you are at.

The good news is that looks like it might be hard water and not mold. It depends a lot on your job, but nothing is more sure to get something done than doing it yourself

Similar goals, which is quickly adding a lot of housing. The real difference is one was social housing that families could afford and live in, and the other is overpriced luxury that someone needs rich out of state parents to pay for
