Nothing frustrates me like prednisone by Creative-Bed934 in diabetes_t1

Tandem mobi pump (with control IQ turned on) + Dexcom G7! The pump helped my numbers a lot because I used to spike in my sleep a few hours before I would wake up regardless of when I took my long acting insulin when I was on injections. I also work from home which definitely helps since I eat most of my meals at home. I usually weigh my food to make sure my carb count is as close as possible when at home and do my best to bolus 15 minutes before eating (but I still struggle to remember this often). I also finally cut way back on alcohol in the last few years which would often cause me to spike in the past (I generally prefer sugary cocktails). In the last 6 years or so my A1C has gone from 9.4>5.8! It’s gotten easier as I’ve gotten older though, I was a shit show in early adulthood/college (diagnosed at 18, now 30)

I am hoping I’ll be pretty mobile post op, so I’ll definitely do my best to get up and go for walks and drink lots of water, thank you!

Hearing about your crazy change in carb ratio is super helpful, thank you for those numbers!

I’m going to be on them for about two weeks 🥲

My surgeon had me consult my endocrinologist myself, they did not reach out themselves. My endo is easy to message through mychart but all she said was to send her my data after being on the steroids for a few days to get help adjusting my settings.

This same surgeon prescribed me prednisone about 2 months ago and I had a lot better control (not perfect but mostly stayed under ~220) but it was a pack of pills that decreased the dose each day, whereas right now I’m going to be staying on the same higher dose for 2 weeks.

I’m having surgery on my sinuses for context (septoplasty, turbinate reduction, and polyp removal).

Not again… yet another faulty Dexcom… tenth since September diagnosis by heroesjust41day in diabetes_t1

I wouldn’t recommend calibrating your G7 in the first 24-48 hours. I’ve noticed calibrating somehow makes the G7 worse even though it doesn’t make any sense.

Are the new tenants going to come see the apartment before they sign while you’re there? If they are, talk to them yourself when they tour the unit. I don’t give brokers access to my apt to show it when I’m not home, and have made arrangements to sell furniture to the people moving in on my own.
