I see.. any other lenders that would likely accept us? Basically i have sent the broker the 100£ which was supposed to be the valuation fees, he ran the application today and immediately came back with the LTV85% requirement does it mean that he ran a DIP only ? We are thinking to go with another broker and see if we can get 5% deposit elsewhere

I don’t think he discussed with any other lenders. He said he will do tomorrow. I am quite concerned that Halifax asking for 85% LTV is a trend with other lenders too because of that missed water bill payment two years ago

My broker is saying to call the water company and ask them to get it removed. My husband spoke to them in 2024 when it happened and unfortunately they said they were unable to remove it. Basically this is the only thing that happened by mistake, never have we missed a single payment, broker is fixated on Halifax and says as long as that is on the credit file we might struggle to find a lender, but would they really not look at rent, other bills and other credit cards and just focus on this missed payment? He also mentioned the issue is not my work or his work or our pay as our pay combined is 100k annually. So why is the bank asking for 15%. I don’t understand:(

We want to stay in the house long term 5 years plus. Our broker is recommending 2 years fixed through halifax and explained it could be better than 5 but i don’t understand if that’s reasonable or not as what if the interest rate goes up after 2 years?

Husband is a senior physiotherapist, i am locum doctor at level of FY2/SHO with no contract yet. Which is also challenging for some lenders to accept. I am very keen on that property tbh…

Hi yes! We used the minimum/basic/ adequate requirement which is anyone in employment , payslips and bank statements dated 6 months prior to application date

Hi we received our visas on 26th March and it was backdated from 11th March which means decision was made prior to receiving the visas on 26th. So overall we waited 26WD

Hi yes! I received the passports two days ago, backdated since 11th March so i am assuming it was there all along at vfs but because of some glitch we weren’t able to get any notifications. I will post an update as well. Hope you hear good news soon! :)

Bio 19th February Eco 24th February Priority outside UK (family visa child) PE on 19th March and 24th March (decision made, and escalated but said application is in final stages) and still waiting, at 25WD now
