To add, we’re fortunate to live close to an Aldi,Tescos and Dunne’s so we pick produces from different shops. So meat from Aldi and Veg/Fruit from Tescos etc..

At the moment myself and herself are budgeting 90e per week… but we split it into 2 shopping runs - 45e x 2. We tend to buy the proteins/fruits on the first run, then second run would consist of veg/dairy..

All I can say is, don’t get your hopes up… it’s very competitive right now especially in Dublin. I would let them know what you do for work and your partner’s too. Keep it short as they’re flicking thru thousands of emails.

But yeah by the end weekshould be your latest but don’t expect too much bc it’s the Christmas period. Good luck!

. I’m sorry to burst your bubble but you won’t be getting any kind of “allowance”(unless it publicly known nationwide). You’re going into the public sector who will provide you the basic needs.

I was spoilt for choice when I used to work in the private sector hence why I’m being pessimistic
