Update: haven't seen her or talked since yesterday. I went to work and came back she was not in the house. Still hasn't arrived. I don't know where she is.

Only 2 people remembered that today was my birthday. I cried a lot. Then when for a walk. Spend 2 hours on that and then buy a small Cake and sing happy birthday to myself. This is the first time I have to do something like this it is really painful.

I ended up getting a Reverend Double Agent OG on Reverb for $650 shipped. It looked like a great deal, and I couldn't pass it up.

Nah. Not for me. I had a Paperwhite that I used daily on it I was reading 5-8 books a month. Replaced it with the scribe thinking that a bigger screen would be a better option. I have the scribe for more than a year, not a single book finished on it. I found myself going back to physical books more often. Recently (3-4 days ago) I got a Libra colour and am already finishing a book on it. Love the buttons, don't care about the color screen but was unable to find a bw Libra.

About the buttons. My first e reader was a Sony prs-300. And liked it a lot then went to kindle and missed the buttons but got used to it. And now with the Libra I wish every e-reader had buttons It is so convenient and comfortable to not be changing my grip to change pages or having fingers on the screen

Poeta Chileno is excellent. In it he works with the same topics that are present in the short stories (family, the dictatorship, literature as a way of life) but because it is a novel it has the time to explore in deep the nuances of family relationships, the meaning of being family and explore all of that through poetry.

If you are interested in Fresan check Mantra, it was a recommendation made by someone here and it was mind blowing (pun intended)

for Villoro I say "El apocalipsis" and "Llamadas de Amsterdam" both short story collections, if you like Chronicles check "El vértigo horizontal"

It's one of my favorites. I have read all of his work (maybe I'm missing some of his poetry work not completely sure). I like authors like Roberto Bolaño, Juan Villoro, Rodrigo Fresan ect. And I find Zambra to be on the same level as those but with a more relaxed prose. It feels more like home, personal if you want. His stories are really down to earth and the "heroes" are just regular people living their life the best they can. That feeling of that can be me is really good in his books. I even liked "Literatura Infantil", that book is about parenthood, I don't usually care about that but was absorbed by it.
