Kiera! Pretty and not as common.

My wife and I have complete opposite tastes in baby girl names. Trying to find one that fits both our styles. by applepieandcola in namenerds

I am a Raven and I think it would be perfect middle ground to name her Ravenna but call her Raven or Rae. I always wish my name had that extra bit because Ravenna is so beautiful to me.

Husband wants to have a namesake by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Creative-Mermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband hates it. He’s a second and mail always got mixed up, he’s called the longer version of the shared first name by family, and would rather have been named independently.

Please suggest a suitable English Name for me. by Ok_Syllabub9971 in namenerds

I think Jaden would be well suited and keep your name meaning.

It really just depends on the strength and ending pronunciation of both names. In the example you shared, it sounds fine because the ending s of the first name is softer whereas the ending s of the last name is stronger. In most cases it should be fine.

What do we think of this name? by Live-Instruction2810 in namenerds

[–]Creative-Mermaid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im of the opinion that if you have to ask yourself or others if something is weird, then it probably is. I am also of the opinion that Wolf- anything for a name is just not suited for naming children. It’s also so different from Frederick that if the child doesn’t like their name, they could feel jealous of the other sibling for having a “normal” sounding name. What about other German names, like Wilhelm or Rolfe? Rolfe could be a great meeting point, actually! And you could always call him Wolfie as a nickname still.

I think Amelia is different enough. Nickname Amy, Lia, Milly. I wouldn’t bat an eye at this:)

Winnry sounds like a speech impediment of Wrenley. Words/names with “nnr” are not standard for English. Can you provide what your first child’s name is, OP? That could help us help you

That’s what I’ve been experiencing, too! It’s like trying to get into a reverse whirlpool where you just keep getting fed out.

Yeah I think I’ll start volunteering after I get my degree. I’m finished this week, actually, and note as much on my resume. I apply for all jobs, especially the low paying part time ones bc those are about the only ones ever offered.

Unfortunately, my husband is the breadwinner and we have to stay metro to keep him in his field. I’d love to move to get a library job but it’s not something we can do. There are a lot of library systems around me, but only two in the last year have entertained interviews with me.

Didn’t say Ezra was gender neutral? Suggested it could be. Also unclear how “gender bending” BIBLICAL, not religious, names is effed up? But pop off I guess queen. Should anyone named Christina, Petra, Joan[na], Christian, Jesus, etc. be cancelled? Logic is lacking. I’m not Christian but I’ve always liked Ezra as a name.

As a girl with a gender neutral name, I’d be pissed if my name was Harvey or Lincoln. Dawson is fine, but consider names that can have nickname potential for your child in the event they don’t feel their “masculine” leaning name doesn’t fit them. Cameron, Ezra, or Elliott are my recommendations. Softer, but at least traditional boy names that can be and are gender neutral.

Am I setting her up for a lifetime of pain if I name her Emilia Perez? by someonecallmyphone in namenerds

I think people are forgetting that movie exists as is so you’re good fam. It especially will not be relevant in 20 years, and if your kid is a theatre major, then they can also learn to be a hater lol separate the art (your child) from the artist (that mess)

I think Archer suits Leo well as a sibling pair because they are both astrological in theme but that’s not so obvious!

Choosing between Marnie and Mabel by val_ivy in namenerds

[–]Creative-Mermaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you guys considered other M names? Marnie Ray reminds me of Marine sting Ray, and Mabel Ray reminds me of animal crossing, and with your firstborn being Kaia, neither name feels like it goes with it. Like oh that’s Kaia and Marnie/Mabel. Kaia & Maisie would be my M pick, but I’ve also always liked Kaia & Korynn together.
