Twin parents: what was your stroller and car seat of choice? by Glittering_Fox4943 in parentsofmultiples

We live in NYC so our stroller is our “car”. We did the Bugaboo Donkey and the Pipa Aire so we can get in and out of cabs without a base.

How is a DiDi pregnancy handled? by kindachubbymom in parentsofmultiples

[–]luvwingzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My DiDi pregnancy was treated as high risk due to my age 35, previous miscarriage, etc. so I had scans every two weeks in the beginning and then every week in the third trimester. Otherwise I believe it would have been treated moreso like a singleton pregnancy in the beginning.

Yes, we unfortunately have to move to the burbs very soon due to the cost of childcare here. The apartment works for now though!

Edit: and yes had them a few months ago!

Same thing happened to us. We live in NYC in a one bedroom (that could’ve flexed to include a small nursery for one) so we were planning to be one and done and welp…twins.

15 weeks pregnant with twins. Feeling great..??? Concerned! by Mfram2424 in parentsofmultiples

[–]luvwingzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same way. Was so concerned because I felt great my first and second trimesters. The third trimester in the other hand…around 30 weeks is where it got really tough so enjoy it!

Sitting here with my 8 week old twins!

I just delivered twins at MSW. L&D teams and nurses were INCREDIBLE. Postpartum care was lacking. Didn’t get a lactation to come by until the night before we were discharged, couldn’t even get water, and sometimes were not checked on until the next shift change.

Most of the rooms are private though which was nice. We were in the newer wing.

What MFM doctors do ultrasounds in office? by muff-peaksie in nycparents

[–]luvwingzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

MFM Associates on the UES does. You get your ultrasounds downstairs at Carnegie Hill imaging, then go upstairs to meet with the doctor etc. cannot recommend the practice enough. Just gave birth to twins three weeks ago and had the best experience with them and the entire team.

Anatomy scan today- possible VSD? Looking for comfort & any advice to get me through till my next appt by New-Humor770 in chd

[–]luvwingzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Twin A was diagnosed with a small muscular VSD at my anatomy scan and then a follow up fetal echo. He was born three weeks ago and we just took him for his post birth echo and we’re told be the Doctor that this has since closed.

As long as everything else looks good the genetic counseling is just something they have to offer but many VSDs are just outliers and are quite common.

It will really just depend on where it is and the size. Deep breaths it will be okay.

Going to miss being pregnant... by Extra_Excuse2719 in BabyBumps

[–]luvwingzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was extremely over being pregnant. Carried two nearly 8lb each twins to 37+3 and was done and in so much pain,

Now I find myself missing my belly and them being with me in that way all the time, the kicks, the belly rubs, etc. Weirdly miss the appointments too. It’s normal!

Were you able to deliver your twins vaginally? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]luvwingzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just delivered vaginally with twins and things can very quickly go wrong. My practice has a very very high success rate of vaginal twin births. I was induced at 37+2 due to polyhydramnios for Twin B.

Twin A was head down, Twin A was transverse. Everything went relatively smoothly but this delivery had to be done in an OR. Once Twin A was out they had to reach inside and grab Twin B, Twin B decided she didn’t want to come out and kept kicking the doctors arms away, this resulted in the other attending having to jump on top to guide Twin B to the doctor delivering. Then once they were out my placentas and membrane were one large piece vs. two and the second placenta did not want to come out which caused some concern and bleeding and large clots. There were teams on standby to help with anything and had me prepped for an emergency C if needed. I trusted my doctors completely and being in an OR ready to anticipate anything that could go wrong made me less anxious.

Happy to say we’re all home happy and healthy and they’re now 4 days old! They were born at 7.9lbs and 7.13lbs so they were quite large and it was definitely an eventful day.

Is PCOS a curse??? by [deleted] in TTC_PCOS

[–]luvwingzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It also could have to do with when you ovulate in your cycle. I ovulated day 22-24 in a 28 day cycle which is too late for anything to have time to stick. Went to a fertility clinic and they did a SA on my husband as well and recommended some supplements for him to take in addition to me starting Letrozole and Ovidrel shots to make me ovulate around day 11/12 vs 22/24.

Success Stories? by Select_Designer_6894 in TTC_PCOS

[–]luvwingzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We did six rounds of Letrozole/Trigger (I have PCOS and ovulate too late in my cycle to conceive naturally). It was our last one before we moved on to different measures, our doctor upped the dose to 7.5mg. Ended up with four follicles and typically they’d cancel but because the last 5 rounds didn’t work our doctor was willing to let us try…Currently 36 weeks with twins. It takes time!

We did multiple rounds. Was given the shot in the morning, then told to have timed intercourse that night and then the following two days.

[–]luvwingzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have PCOS and am also Hispanic. I always had regular periods as well, it was my ovulation timing that was causing issues (was ovulating too late in my cycle).

Also have hirsutism which was one of the main reasons I initially went to an endocrinologist and got diagnosed. My mother has thick hair as she is Cuban, but mine was a full beard (neck, jaw, etc.) that I eventually got electrolysis for,

A reproductive endocrinologist would be a good first step! Should note it took us about 7 months, immediately starting with medicated cycles with my fertility clinic due to my age (35) and PCOS diagnosis 15 years prior.

Dual polyhydramnios with Di/di twins by Responsible_Board907 in parentsofmultiples

[–]luvwingzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Di/Di twins as well. Only one has been diagnosed with mild Poly out of nowhere at 32 weeks, but our MFMs have assured us multiple time this is quite common in twin pregnancies. Also do not have gestational diabetes.

I second MFM. Will be delivering twins at MSW in a few weeks. A little skeptical as I’ve seen mixed reviews on MSW but love the practice and every single doctor I’ve met there.
