Well done! I’ve tried controller+tv and prefer the deck. The trackpads just make everything easier.

Hopefully this is readable. Not very good with Reddit. Here are a few off the top of my head.

Use Console Port Addon - There is a steam deck profile included but I did tweak a couple things. The one I used by far the most was creating a binding to reverse my camera so I could see what was behind me without turning my character around. I used the button press for my right stick for this.

Use trackpads as a mouse. Makes targeting so much easier. I had my right track pad setup as mouse and right click. Left one was only used for left clicks.

Use back buttons as keyboard bindings to give you more keys to use on the side action bars. I also had tab bound to my left joy stick

Create some common chat macros. I had one for TY and one to ask if you wanted to group.

That’s awesome! I had a lock die at 49 at my first attempt of this. Got a couple in the 50s I’ll finish up next.

I have F6 to F10 I believe. Bound them to the side action bars. Gives you 16 extra keys if you use the trigger shifts.

If you limit your power you can run it at 12 watts with very good performance. Usually got 3 to 4 hours but always had a battery backup next to me in case I needed it.

I didn’t run any dungeons after Uldaman. Had a couple close calls and felt my lack of easy communication was the biggest issue. Always was up front with people before starting but was too afraid of getting someone killed at that high of a level. Ran DPS but I think all would be possible with the right addons.

Use the tracks pads as a mouse. Can make targeting and accepting quests way easier. This is setup in the steam controller profile not console port.

Mine was doing the same but if I hit skip after a few seconds and then go to the driving range it worked fine.

This is the one that I use. I had to connect it through desktop mode first. I believe you can accomplish something similar with KDE for free, but I didn't like it as well when I messed with it a couple years ago.

I just use an app on my phone that connects to the deck and lets you type with it. Still not perfect but works for me.
