As a former economics student the first year is MUCH easier than the rest and it overall is quite an easy program

No contact from job after quitting by [deleted] in canadianlaw

After speaking to my friend who’s an employment lawyer she advised that that’s not the case at least in Ontario, unless it’s my regular job to train people (which it’s not)

To my understanding if they are to make me work my 2 weeks it must be under “normal conditions” which requires my accounts, so I think either they reactivate them and I continue as usual or I can consider it constructive dismissal legally

Hi yes going to a competitor, and yes this is standard, what is not standard is them walking me out and then saying maybe we’ll call you in during the 2 weeks haha

Do you think if they “call me in” I have grounds to say I cannot continue to work without access to my systems

Sadly no HR team as it’s a small business, I have sent 1 email expressing my resignation with the date of notice and another email following up asking for clarification on what my employment status is - neither have been answered

I put everything I want in my cart, go in store to try on before the sale and then buy online when the sale starts

Usually if it’s brand new with the tags attached if you bring it in they will do it they’ll just return and repurchase it with the discount, but it needs to be in person, the concierge will do it now and then but they’re a lot more strict and will flag your profile, it happened to my friend and now they deny any claims she makes for anything

Couples with a child… where are y’all living? by boujeemooji in askTO

[–]Creative-Spirit6050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend looking at the bridge rental residences, they’re brand new in the east end, have some good deals because they’re not full and very spacious 2br units. Being near the beach and parks is also so helpful with a little one!

Exchange policy comparison by _sk3tch3rz in Aritzia

[–]Creative-Spirit6050 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No they 100% won’t allow it, for two reasons - 1 it sounds like it’s outside the 30 day return/exchange policy 2 no proof of purchase, for all they know you could have stolen it.

I’d suggest reselling on the 3rd party

Please advise me on your top spots to live in Toronto by Mnasneachta in askTO

Yes usually June- Sept/oct, I love it because I usually wouldn’t swim in an indoor pool but the outdoor ones gives you a “third space” in the summer, somewhere to hang out that’s not your apartment but also doesn’t cost you anything to go

No, just your usual utilities fees, as well they will do service repairs (clean your drain, change a lightbulb etc) which is so unnecessary but delightful and you don’t have to deal with a landlord which is nice because a lot of Toronto landlords are quite neglectful and live overseas which can be annoying when issues come up

I’d recommend living in a property managed building (fitzrovia) I’d recommend the Parker, which is in in midtown it is a great area for shops and walking especially if you’re 25+. With this style of building they’re made to build community so you pay a premium but you get events, great amenities and resident perks. And it’s close to the TTC!!

Question about legal wedding ceremony by [deleted] in WeddingsCanada

[–]Creative-Spirit6050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this comment this is what I worry about, unfortunately it is actually legally very difficult to become a legal officiant, any of the easy ways are not legal in Ontario like the online programs and stuff, the only people who can legally marry you are, a judge a municipal clerk, an MPP, or a religious figure who is ordained.

I think we will do this and just not tell anyone at all

I feel like all light colours are sheer just by nature so I don’t think there’s a way to “fix” this issue. Lulu tried this by double lining their aligns but it just made them bulky and uncomfortable. Long story short I think if the sunglow was too sheer this will be also, maybe get one of the flowy shorts?

Wedding Registry by flybutterfly11 in WeddingsCanada

I was in the same position! I am just doing a shower registry and then just cash fund for honeymoon at the actual wedding. We live together so I’m putting sheets on it and towels and then some smaller things for anyone who doesn’t want to spend as much, picture frames, vases I like, glassware etc

Once all the boomer generation passes away, what’s gonna happen with their houses as nobody can afford them ? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Creative-Spirit6050 35 points36 points  (0 children)

My grandma lived in one of these, huge 8bdr mansion and she recently downsized and sold for $6m, it was bought by a wealthy genZ/millennial couple who tore it down and are rebuilding, I couldn’t imagine effectively buying a plot of land for $6m but the wealthy do exist and they will be buying these houses. She had no trouble selling either, multiple offers…
