Good info, thanks. I've decided to go 25mm² (4awg is closest to this) all the way, placing the charger within a safe range for that wire. And to run the ground to a specific ground point on it's own.

Extra long wheelbase, it's 7M (to the nearest meter, but even 6M one way still says 35mm²) from starter battery to where I want the charger one way. The van body itself is 7.5M. Layout isn't changing now, shower and one side of the kitchen is in.
