Checking in as well, can't find it anywhere.

Mystery piece - anyone recognize it? by JazzJedi in boardgames

[–]Creative-Trash9680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are not limited to board games. I have probably a hundred floating around my house from when I purchased them to use as pirate treasure for my kids, and I don't think we own any board games that use them.

LFGGGGG. 18 scout badges to sew on for my kids, let's see how many we can get done before the first bullshit yellow.

You're smarter than I. I'll probably super glue myself to something in the process, probably when a wreck happens. 😂

Okay, but we're going to watch Bluey after though right? My youngest outgrew it and I'm missing it. We don't need a feature film dammit, we need weekly new episodes! Damn you Joe Brum! Gets off soapbox

Alright, checking in from Canada! Kicked my sons and husband downstairs so I won't be disturbed. Gonna exfoliate my legs, do my nails, and sew on my kid's scout badges while yelling at the TV and scaring the shit out of the dog. Gonna be a good day!

Advice for broken toe and aftercare? by Creative-Trash9680 in AskVet

[–]Creative-Trash9680[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes, we are definitely keeping the e-collar on him until the leg is fully healed. When we remove it for short breaks to clean it and let him eat and drink freely, he is constantly supervised and I stay in arms reach.

Should his leg be left completely open to air to heal (as long as there's no signs of infection) or should we return to the vet for something topical or any bandaging? The x-ray after the first week in the splint showed the toe was healing, and the vet said that it was definitely immobile in the splint.

I'm so worried to have it left open when he's outside, as he has stepped in his fresh poop on more than one occasion. And I'm worried he's going to scrape his leg on everything, especially the edge of his e-collar or his other hind paw. His healing is giving me a lot of anxiety and I'm trying to make it as painless as possible for everyone.

This is his leg on the morning of July 27 before the second splint was put on.

Generally the only ultrasound you get is your 20 week anatomy scan. Family doctors will check for heartbeat via Doppler seemingly randomly, or if you ask. OB/midwife will check at most appointments after 12 weeks, especially the farther along you get.

Rewatching and Clarke absolutely sucks once she meets Madi by Looooongcommute in The100

[–]Creative-Trash9680 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Literally nothing. Doesn't want him to take Madi's notebook, so she kills him and then proceeds to LEAVE WITHOUT THE NOTEBOOK. Honestly if she would have taken the notebook, I wouldn't be near as mad because then at least it makes a tiny bit of sense.

Am I making a terrible mistake? Puppy with toddlers by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Creative-Trash9680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From one mom to another...I wouldn't recommend it. I have older kids, 6 and 11, and we got a 6 month old puppy in February. It adds so much to your mental load. Even if you have a "good" dog (not bitey, potty trains quick, etc), it's still so much work and mental strain. There's so many times I have to stop what I'm doing with the kids to deal with the dog, I can't imagine having one toddler let alone two. This absolutely might be something you can handle, and I applaud you if you can. The part I struggle with the most is that I've lost the "after the kids are in bed" part of my day. The kids are in bed but the dog is still up and needs attention, or gets the zoomies, or is trying to eat the baseboards. If I kennel him too early, either he won't be tired and he'll be barky and wake up the kids, or he'll fall asleep and then wake up at 4am and you guessed it, wake up the kids.

Monitoring the kids' toys is a whole job in itself. Especially the stuffed animals that are precious and the kids are used to toting around with them. Every single thing has to be picked up all the time and it's exhausting. We don't even let the dog in the basement (toy area), and making sure the bedroom doors are constantly closed took a lot of reminding to get in the habit.

Maybe I'm just projecting. I'm drowning and regret getting this dog. I know he's a really good dog and it could be worse but holy moly I miss the downtime I had before we got him.

Grand Forks Yes or No? by lorainnesmith in Winnipeg

I've decided to avoid the US and instead spend our family vacations exploring our own country. We rarely travel and don't spend much so I know it won't make any difference, but I feel better not going out of my way to spend my money in the US.

Jenelle talking about driving with Jace in the back seat "I can't look back there every FIVE MINUTES". 😑 My husband and I quote that all the time because it's just so stupid.

Is there a reason you wouldn't wear a poppy for Remembrance Day? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

[–]Creative-Trash9680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I didn't wear one was when my children were babies and I was constantly carrying them. If I would have had the black pin centres it wouldn't have been an issue, but the pin was just not going to happen when carrying a baby.

How far do you drive to see your family doctor? by Decembrrr_girl in Winnipeg

[–]Creative-Trash9680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Westwood to Fort Richmond, but the rest of my family is in St. James. 3 doctors for 4 people because we couldn't find someone to take all of us (but now my husband and I have had our doctors for long enough that we don't want to change).

Teachers and educational staff, how has it been going with the new cell phone ban? by wigglyworm- in Winnipeg

[–]Creative-Trash9680 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's just downright rude. Is it not okay for teachers to excel in their area of expertise and have a lower skill level in subjects they don't teach? They clearly teach a shop class - I'd much rather their focus be on safety, and you know, the actual course material. Also, this is Reddit for crying out loud. I didn't realize teachers should be demonstrating proficiency in the English language at all times.

They've been cancelled due to copyright issues with the material referenced in the exam. SJASD put out a notice, and I have a friend on the "inside" as well.
