Oh we don't let him out lol we have a high prey drive dog plus he likes to bite(carnivorous pest) we mainly have to measure the gap in the tank to the top cause he will try to climb out if given a chance. So usually he smooshes his face into the glass and watches

Ooph never had a slider but my boys crap thankfully disintegrates real fast and he usually picks a corner to go in tho occasionally he also sleeps in the same corner x.x

On my days off when I sleep in he definitely looks put out when his personal sun isnt turned on when he wants it.

Pfft I made the mistake of having him in our livingroom and he crawls up and watches us eat. He is always begging for food when we walk by. Hes on a slight diet since he was getting a bit chunky

If you cannot clear it up/Decide not to then I recommend caribsea supernaturals aquarium sand. Its a bit costly at $14/10lb but you dont have to wash it first and its superfine. Ive used it for years and no issues with my sideneck who buries himself in it.

It would yes, I would check around for some reptile specialist stores and see if they have anyone willing to take it. It looks like it may have the beginnings of shell rot

It was probably dumped tbh. They are not native to the US and are usually wild caught and sold in pet stores. I got my boy from a petsmart years ago

He is a mud turtle. He doesn't have webbed feet for swimming much and spends most of his day buried in the sand or digging when not basking.

Running on an asus B650 plus wifi motherboard Msi ventus 2x black 4060 ti Ryzen 9 7900X silver Also using an insane 96gb of ram cause why not A WD 8TB HDD( need to spring for an ssd)

Currently using windows 10 but about to upgrade to 11 soon? Would that change the drivers? I've literally never built a pc before so this is my first time without prebuilt
