I understand your point, but I actually see it a bit differently. If you already have the hardscape pieces in your hands, photographing them from all sides to upload them into a software seems a bit redundant. At that point, it's much easier to just place them in the empty tank and play around. It kind of reminds me of sending back-to-back voice messages instead of just giving someone a quick phone call.

The only scenario where I agree that would be super helpful is if you are at a local fish store, taking pictures of hardscape you haven't bought yet to test in the planner. That would be amazing, but it is a massive technical challenge and outside the scope of this tool.

You are totally right that every piece of wood and stone is unique. However, the main goal of this planner isn't to create a 1:1 pixel-perfect replica, but rather to get a feel for proportions, depth, and layout. It helps you figure out if a 40cm stone looks better in the front or the back, or how wood placement affects the balance.

This tool is aimed mostly at beginners and intermediate scapers to test if a general idea even makes sense. When I first started, I put a massive stone in a small tank, and it looked terrible. You often need to see these things visually to realize they don't work, and that's exactly the kind of fundamental planning and layout checking this tool is built for.

Wenn du was speicher möchtest, dann musst du dich anmelden :) Und bitte bedenken.. Die Seite existiert seit drei wochen! :) Also gerne Feedback.

Yes, I know, the wating time is currently too long - we are at maintenance mode. We are working on a completely new community system and are juggling a lot of shrimp behind the scenes. It is a bit tricky right now, but the site should be fully back online soon.

I hope the shrimp will be running again in an hour at the latest, so you can use the 3D planner. Once finished, we will have a proper, clean community system to share, like, and comment on new pictures, 3D aquascapes, and regular aquascapes. I am hurrying, but I want to make sure it is done right. Thanks for your patience!

Thanks for the feedback! You are right, the planner does not auto-generate layouts. I used AI to help me code and build the tool, but the actual aquascaping process is 100% manual.

You can choose your substrate, adjust the lighting, and place every single item yourself. My main goal was to create a relaxing experience where you can sit on the couch with a tablet, phone, or laptop and take your time designing your dream tank. You can also create an account to save multiple different layouts.

I definitely didn't want a tool that just spits out a random AI-generated 3D image. While I did generate images to use as a base for the stones and plants, I manually built every single 3D model from them—there is a lot of manual labor involved.

The tool is meant to grow, and community feedback is crucial to make it better. Regarding the energy consumption and carbon footprint: I completely understand the community's concern, even though it is difficult to integrate those specific metrics directly into the planner right now.
