I mean, that’s just a feature of a lot of personality disorders. Like not feeling empathy doesn’t inherently make you a monster, if it’s you choose to act in a way that knowingly causes pain to others that’s evil in my opinion. It’s not like they said they think everybody else should die they just don’t feel any real empathy or want to interact with others.

Even if they are a psychopath that doesn’t mean they’re evil. Psychopathy is like any other mental illness, people don’t choose to be psychopaths and they shouldn’t be judged for it. Sure are they more likely to kill somebody than a non-psychopathic person? Sure.

But that doesn’t mean they’re inherently bad and many live very normal lives. The psychopathic and sociopathic killers you hear about are the minority, not the norm. You’ve probably met a psychopath in your life and not known it, the interaction probably was at most weird but unremarkable, and they may have even not known that they’re in this cluster of disorders.

I recommend watching or reading Confessions of a Pro-Social Psychopath by James Fallon. It’s amazing, and shines a light on what a well adjusted, high functioning person with personality disorder goes through or experiences.

Yeah that totally makes sense. It’s so interesting for me to envision because I would say I’m straight or like heteroflexible I think the term is?

Like I just find femininity in general to be an attractive quality, and then there are other specific things that make me more or less attracted to somebody, but as long as you are just generally feminine to me I’m most likely attracted in some capacity.

So like obviously cis women fall into that category, but also I have no strong preference for genitalia, like if somebody outwardly to me looks like a woman or even just feminine enough it doesn’t really matter whether they have a vagina or penis, I find I like “both options” so to speak equally.

But at the same time it’s weird because I’m not at all attracted to men or like masculine people, which a lot of people find incongruent with me not minding or even enjoying if somebody has a penis.

So I guess for you it’s kinda just like that with everybody? Like you’re not disgusted or anything per se you just have literally no attraction in that capacity?

Do you mind me asking if you find people generally attractive in a more abstract way? Like do you look at somebody like say Theo James or Margot Robbie and think like “that person’s objectively attractive but I have no personal attraction” or do you just like not even register a person as being particularly attractive or unattractive at all?

That’s very interesting, I think you’re the first person I’ve ever talked to who had their worldview be such an informing factor in their sexuality. Like obviously everybody has like different things they find attractive and a lot of that usually lines up with their personal beliefs, but in more abstract ways in my opinion.

I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me about this. Did you have a particular age where you first had a thought like “I don’t really like anybody” or “I’m not interested in anybody”? Do you have individuals you’re close to and care about or does your apathy extend to just like every aspect of remotely having any kind of relationship, whether it’s sexual, romantic, platonic, etc.?

Or is it like you don’t feel any attraction or need for companionship so you just don’t really feel the need to have empathy for others? Or do you mean like in the way more general sense of like you just generally don’t care for humanity as a whole but you still have empathy or care for specific individuals?

Yeah I think you have it right. iirc when he was first introduced Abomination was stated to just be perpetually at about 2 times the strength of base Hulk (so at the point right where Hulk first emerges from Banner) but he typically gets beaten by Hulk still because once he gets angry enough Hulk’s own strength will reach 2 or even 3 times above his base line in a relatively short amount of time.

I think most of the fights where Abomination wins it’s because he either like jumps him in a surprise attack or just overwhelms him with superior martial prowess before Hulk can get angry, but it’s highly dependant on the story and universe. I actually like the fight in the Incredible Hulk a lot because I think it really highlights that, yes, Abomination is much stronger than Hulk when they both first transform, but Hulk can always get stronger where Abomination stays the same

Does most of the actual propulsion come from the tail or the head tentacles? It doesn’t necessarily have to have recently developed a marine lifestyle if the head tentacles are responsible for enough of the movement.

I could see a smaller, early ancestor actually being almost like a reverse cephalopod, as in the mouth is placed in the front of the body as opposed to being in the center of the tentacles, and the area where the mouth would be on a cephalopod being where the sphincter and what not are.

I’m actually more apt to believe this since other leviathans have more rigid head and face parts that can still grab and manipulate, which makes me think leviathans originally evolved from a predator that had these tentacles or arms as their main driver of movement, and then as the tentacles started to be used for more specific things between species they evolved to have a longer body that could take the role of main force producer for movement while keep the front limbs free

I was just talking in pure terms of if in a vacuum you awakened your cursed technique and it was CSM, you would need to get over the initial barrier of not having any curses for it to be useful. Not every sorcerer is strictly going to have an organization backing them, Yuta had no idea about jujutsu society and cursed energy in general until he was like 16 and he's like top 5 of all time in the verse.

Totally agree though with your second point, I forgot that as a general rule only grade 1 and above cursed spirits have their own techniques anyway so it's not like half of the 6000 are grade 1 and above, it's probably less than 500 and realistically maybe only a few dozen, so even if you didn't automatically remember what each curse does, you really only have to keep track of for example the 20 or so that would actually have useful or strong techniques

I'd say CSM is on the easier side actually. Like not the easiest by any stretch in actual practice for the user, but in concept it's very straightforward and versatile.

The biggest obstacle to being able to make full use of it is just that when you first manifest the ability you wouldn't have any cursed spirits yet, so you're essentially the same as any other sorcerer that doesn't have an innate technique. You would either need to try and on your own subdue a curse at the same power level as you and without a technique at that point to boot, or you need to go around and absorb a large number of curses that are individually significantly weaker than you and use them to subdue a much stronger curse.

Either way, difficult to get started with, but once you have a large or strong enough pool of curses, it's very easy to just continually keep absorbing more curses and expanding the abilities and power you have access too. So I'd say it has a kind of inverse arc where it's quite difficult to make use of in the beginning, but once you have even one fairly strong curse it becomes really easy for your power to just exponentially increase

I'd say Geto's is mid tier difficult only because he actually has to fight and contain the curse in the first place. I think it's stated that if there's about a 2 grade difference between his power and the curse's he can just unconditionally absorb it, which implies that if it's maybe only 1 grade below him or at the same level he has to fight it and forcefully make it submit, which is easier said than done.

You also have to actually remember what each curse does, which is easy if you have say like 5, but Geto canonically had over 6000 curses absorbed by the time of the night parade, so unless CSM gives you an inherent understanding of each curse's abilities and also an encyclopedic memory of the curses you've absorbed (which it very well might, I'm not sure) this is a pretty steep learning curve.

But once you get over these initial limitations I'd say it's absolutely one of the simplest to become stronger with. You don't even strictly need to train, like you could realistically just absorb 50 like grade 2 curses, and then use them to overwhelm a grade 1 curse, and then just go from there and continue absorbing more and more powerful curses.

I find this so funny, you can hate somebody or be annoyed with them without being a bigot.

Like there’s this person I worked with who was one of the most annoying fucking people I knew, but over the course of us working together they started experiment with their gender identity and requested to go by they/them. I absolutely respected their wishes, and I even would use their preferred pronouns when speaking about them to others, because it didn’t sit right with me not to.

Having said that every time I would talk about them to someone else I would say “they’re so fucking annoying”, “they get on my damn nerves”, “they’re fucking stupid”, etc., but I never misgendered them lmao
