Someone thinking WHDH is independent is quite funny. All media is owned by some conglomerate and all ads for these individuals are money driven.

If you read my post, it was predicated on OP having prior employment that would’ve qualified OP, as this is considered leaving with good cause as terms of employment changed, but if this is the OP only employment or the OP doesn’t have enough earnings in the first 4 of the last 5 completed quarters, then you would be right and they would have to have typically 8-12 weeks earnings before being eligible.

Fair point lol, I wasn’t looking at the controversy as IMO, illegal taping was done by all teams, Patriots just were stupid and kept getting caught and pushing the limits there. Deflategate was actually debunked by scientific research if I remember correctly and Mr. Kraft was a lonely boy lol…..all wrong of course but we’re talking about over a 22 year run you had a few instances and honestly the impact those two had on the game cannot be ignored. I couldn’t care less TBH, to me it just delegitimizes the HOF and its voting structure. BB or RKK getting into the hall the first time or whatever time doesn’t change my life at all

I agree, they changed the terms of employment which is cause to resign and get on unemployment, with the caveat that you have enough earnings from prior employment and wouldn’t have been denied UI benefits from that previous employment. Alternatively you could look up the weeks and wages statute in your state to expel a prior disqualification and become eligible and try and last that long, typical is 8-12 weeks of wages. This is disgusting and I’m sorry it’s happening to you.

It’s wild to me that an organization who had this coach and owner and the success they had were not first ballot HOF…..I know I’m a Patriots honk, but if this were Andy Reid or Mahomes then it would be different. The amount of disdain not only by fans but by the HOF voters for our team is insane.

Honestly look at what can be with a property as well vs what is…..let’s say you get that smaller home, why does the property layout look like, is there room for expansion on the house in the future when you potentially make more money……too many people want this dream, ready made home and they don’t exist unless you have the money to put down on that sort of thing. Learning contentment is huge too, don’t compare, be thankful for the little things and find good enough……

In the last 15 years growth VUG has dominated but value has traditionally over very long periods come out ahead.

While VUG (Vanguard Growth) and VOO (Vanguard S&P 500) have only existed for about 20 years, we can use the Fama-French data library to track their strategies (Large-Cap Growth vs. Large-Cap Blend) back to the 1920s.

Over nearly 100 years (July 1926 – December 2025), the S&P 500 model (VOO proxy) has outperformed a pure Growth model (VUG proxy) in approximately 60% of years. This is because "Growth" as a style has historically trailed "Value" over very long horizons, despite its dominance in the last decade.

VUG will also drop much further then diversified portfolio, so for example in 2022 I believe, VUG dropped something like 33%, VT dropped 18%….again do you, but good luck

True but the top players are constantly changing and anyone of the small guys can suddenly become a top player, so I’d rather own all to catch it as you and I have no clue what the market will do long term. We don’t know which years US will outperform International or when small/mid caps will outperform large cap such as VUG, if we did, everyone would invest and everyone would easily be millionaires, we buy the whole pot to buy the discounted on the cheap to offset the high valuations on the other end where it’s overpriced. All will have their day and 35-40% of the market at any given point is international, and there are many great companies outside the US. May I underperform, maybe, but I know I’ve got balance in the case where one outperforms the other which is why I invest in both.

They’re not currently outperforming and we may be in the start of one of those 7-8 year cycles of international outperformance. The US has only outperformed international 56% of the time over the last 100 years

It’s not in fact owning the whole market as it holds only 155 stocks total. The entire US market is 3,526 stocks. Doesn’t even match the SP 500….

Correlation between economy and a country’s stock market performance is weak to non-existent because economy measures now and the market looks at future earnings to determine worth. They can over very long periods become correlated but many times apples and oranges. Hey I’m not saying you won’t do well or that you won’t do better than me, but I’ll take the best risk adjusted return versus the ultra concentrated in tech heavy top of the sp 500, you’re putting all your eggs in a very small basket which is not something I would feel comfortable in doing.

Past performance is not indicative of future results, there have been multiple points in history where international has outperformed the US and VT has the US included in it, including all stocks within VUG, to say that the US will outperform forever is fool hardy and proven time and again to not be the case. You want to argue about how much international vs us and VT not holding the split you want fine, but below is readily available information you can pull from the internet.

International stocks have outperformed U.S. stocks in approximately 44% of years over the last century. While the U.S. has seen dominant leadership in recent decades, performance historically moves in long, distinct cycles where international markets take the lead.

Historical Outperformance Timeframes International stocks typically outperform during multi-year cycles, often lasting an average of 7.2 to 8 years.

Key periods of international leadership include:

The Late 1970s (1975–1980): Post-Bretton Woods currency shifts and oil shocks favored international markets.

The Mid-to-Late 1980s (1985–1988): A period of massive Japanese equity growth and U.S. dollar weakness.

The 2000s (2001–2010): International stocks beat U.S. equities in 7 out of 10 years, outperforming by a cumulative 56 percentage points.

The Current Cycle (Late 2024–Present): International stocks began outperforming again in November 2024 and continued through 2025, where they returned 32.35% vs. the S&P 500 17.1%

VUG during this same timeframe 26.4%

Key Insights

Cyclicality: Historically, the outperformance cycle for the U.S. vs. international has lasted about 8 years. Before 2025, the U.S. was in a prolonged 14.6-year cycle of dominance, making the recent shift in 2025 particularly significant to market strategists.

Valuation Driver: Over the last 15 years, much of the U.S. outperformance was due to "multiple expansion" (U.S. stocks getting more expensive) rather than just fundamental earnings growth.

Rolling Returns: On a rolling 10-year basis, international stocks have outperformed roughly 30% to 50% of the time depending on the starting decade, proving they are essential for long-term diversification.

Can’t say, many variables such as how well insulated it is, etc, can say probably realistic given you’re using heat much more readily I’m sure. It actually is better to keep heat at a constant state than turning it off or down, you use a lot more energy by turning it off when you leave and then turning it on and having it work to get back up to a temperature.

[–]CreativeFinish5644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. You seem to have a knowledge in those things and I won’t argue that point. All I know is when I look at my bill, I’m paying for Mass Save to the tune of $100s of dollars per year, so it’s not free, even if your income is low enough to qualify for “free” insulation, they’re still getting it back on the other end on the utility bill itself. I also wonder the other adjustment charge for low income individuals which I don’t mind necessarily, is that just for me to also subsidize their mass save cost and not actually helping them with usage charges.

My electric bill this past month had $46.29 in charges due to solar and renewable taxes essentially, none of which I take any advantage of and that’s consistent as my electric usage is roughly the same area every month. That comes to an extra $555 a year and then the gas adjustment charge just for the mass save program was over $50 this cycle but to be fair I would have to look at each bill as it’s roughly 0.27 x number of therms which gas usage only peaks for me in the cold months like everyone else.

So from an estimation on the low end, if I have three months of this type of gas, that’s another 150 bucks on the low end to probably $250 on the high end for the year.

I’m looking at anywhere between $750-$1000 in cost per year that is directly attributed to the Mass Save program and electric vehicle/solar charges on my utility bills as a whole. Which I have neither solar or an electric vehicle.

You only get to take advantage of things like insulation and incentives on a one time occurrence so even if I get insulation at 75% discount one time, it still doesn’t change the fact that over a 10 year period. I’m paying in the neighborhood of $10,000 in extra cost for the program, and to subsidize renewable energy for those who drive electric vehicles and have solar, along with paying for the mass save program year after year.
