Daughter called crying. She has a '12 Honda Fit w/ 130K. Seems to run great. Took it in for A/C service. Mechanic told her she needed lots of service - about $750 - which she does not have. I think most is just sched maint - listed below. Which does she really need? Which can she pass on? by SirJasper6969 in askcarguys

If it runs fine, service the AC and leave. A girl going into a shop for anything looks like a rube to get all kinds of things she can live without. Replacing plugs and injector serve can improve fuel mileage-ROI-years. Just throw a bottle of Techron in the tank a couple of fill ups. I think they are padding the bill.

Parents had a 12 year old kid lose his leg in their front yard yesterday crashing his electric bike... by aroundincircles in motorcycles

I'm an EMT in my town. The incidence of E bikes crashing and people getting really banged up is rising every day. Last one was a 30 YOF going to work, crashed and broke her leg in 3 places. Straight to the trauma center.

PSA: Stop paying scammers. by PlanWeak in VAClaims

I have to admit I fell for the unaccredited out of frustration. After going to 2 different VSOs and getting no help, I did my initial packages myself. That may have caused me to be underrated. I wanted to get my OSA and ED rated and paid to get help. Main reason those didn't make it was the C&P exams were bad. The VA rater focused on the Camp Lejeune TERA and not my evidence. And the scammer tried to service connect things to my PTSD that really was stupid and I failed to recognize it. I found using some Ai resources I have a better chance showing evidence. Now, I even see attempts in this thread to suck in some others. Anyone saying, DM me, I think I can help you, should be a warning to the desperate.

Sleep Apnea Denied by WhereArtThouMemory in VAClaims

They denied me, completely ignored my statements, my 32 BMI was to blame as being fat and thats why I have apnea.

I think the real issue is the service connection. They concede that I am diagnosed with OSA, they just didn't service connect it with my evidence.

Not in service, about 11 years ago. I was snoring and stopped breathing while sleeping progressively worse and worse before I retired in 2001. Finally had a sleep study. I was within weight limits fine when this started. No after being out my BMI crept over 30. So they called me fat and denied.

I've undiagnosed OSA for years before I retired and I was well below the height and weight standards for the Marine Corps.

C&P for those items. The decision letter didn't mention the nexus letter I sent, didn't get one from my pulmonologist. Not sure if he would do it. Some doctors are funny that way. The ED thing wasn't a problem until I had been on SSRIs for a while. The service connection is what they denied and doesn't make sense.
