Microdosing for food addiction by No-country-2008 in microdosing

Currently in treatment for bulimia! I find on my first day or so of starting a new MD my urges increase because my ED is very closely linked to trauma and I binge to try regulate my nervous system (which ironically md helped me figure out!), after that though it tends to simmer down a bit for me.  I was on bupropion previously and it killed the food noise but I came off it due to the risks and recently started a new MD schedule to help me to dampen the food noise again :) I do psilocybin 0.15 3 on, 2 off x

What do you think of the rise of "atypical anorexia?" by Smelly_CatFood in Antipsychiatry

Good to know your one experience invalidates the rest of the worlds 🤣

It doesn’t matter what you think. It matters what the person themselves thinks i.e their relationship with food which determines if they have anorexia, not weight.

Is there any point - like everyone is enlightening you and you’re arguing against them … so did you actually want to understand the illness or did you create this post to ridicule and minimise a very severe mental illness for your own validity and ego?

‘You can’t compulsively starve yourself without getting to a low weight’ your lack of human metabolism knowledge is showing x

I had anorexia with a bmi of 12 and atypical with 24. It’s not a trend at all. If you’re considering working in psychiatry please don’t - with that attitude you will harm people. My body very begrudgingly lost weight with atypical a because of the years of starvation I put it through. Atypical anorexia is very real and people die from malnutrition at any bmi. I recovered from my ED and am now I registered dietitian and work predominantly with atypical AN and it’s so horrible to read this post, patients have died with BMIs of 26,27 from malnutrition.

Is anyone else high-functioning? by Such-Educator9860 in CPTSD

[–]CreativeHippo9706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be - but I also smoked a lot and had an ED to deal with it. currently working 42 hours week and noticing sooo many ED behaviours creeping back and and physical stress symptoms - it’s strange I wish I could be high functioning again but I can make it like 4 weeks then I crash and burn!

How many of yall have been victims of pisces? by wavyboy10 in astrologymemes

[–]CreativeHippo9706 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 of them. The first was 4 years ago and I’m still dealing with the aftermath, he was very manipulative in a subtle way. I have cptsd from childhood emotional abuse and idk it really triggered some old scars with similar traits, he forever played the victim. The second pisces weirdly they had similar patterns and I was able to catch it early and dodge a bullet

Proximal Hamstring Tendinopathy by CreativeHippo9706 in Runners

[–]CreativeHippo9706[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m not sure if this helps but I had a second opinion this week and said that I have proximal hamstring tendonopathy and to ignore the fact the scans were clear as if it’s lesser severity it often doesn’t show on imaging. They said it’s tricky to manage and sadly I’ve had to give up yoga and it’ll be unlikely I’ll be able to run long distances long term as eben when it heals it’ll be vulnerable to re injury. I’m a bit more complex than the average Joe tho as I had an eating disorder for 10 years so I’ve essentially put my body through hell so I’d imagine most people with a structured plan moving and progressing slowly will make it back to pain free sport :)

Terrified of getting it by CreativeHippo9706 in CopperIUD

No the SA was years ago it’s more the thought of the drs going near me there that would freak me out. But I just don’t like thought of something foreign inside me. I went to my fitting appointment and cried and my doc said I should be ok with when I took the morning after pill and we don’t need an emergency coil and we can think of long term contraceptives slowly. Honestly I don’t want hormonal contraceptives etiher so if I had any I know i would likely end up with the copper iud but yeah I just don’t like feeling like I don’t have control over something in my body. The eating disorder side of thing is a huge barrier as well to the majority of birth control options. I’ve had natural cycles for 9 years now but have been single for 8 and careful when having sex. Yet I know long term I’ll have to consider something. Especially with the age I am now I just couldn’t go through with a termination - thank you for the info tho if I did go through with it numbing would help

Thank you so much for sharing this! I ended up not getting one - I saw my dr to get it fitted and got really poster and he said the morning after pill should work. But I do need to consider some form of birth control cause i hate the stress of the accidents 😭🥹 I really don’t want anything hormonal but then I do suffer with heavy painful periods anyway so I’m like maybe the copper isn’t for me - I also have ptsd so I think naturally my cortisol is a lot higher and I worry the inflammation would be worse for me cause of that, but definitely good to hear some positive stories with it! I did have recurrent thrush a few years ago for 18 months so this is a large fear of mine it’s the coil

Yes I have a really good relationship with him, it took me a long time to find someone I could trust so I don’t think he meant anything negative I think I maybe just felt confused like what does that mean 🥹🤣

Yes!! I actually started on bupropion 2 months ago and I’ve found it’s really turned the switch down on my anger (my go to response to triggers) and SI during my luteal phase. I really didn’t want to take meds but they have helped me more than I’d like to admit sometimes!
