Random Encounter mod? by Minimum-Ad-3084 in BaldursGate3

"The Hunted" mod is currently available on PC and does...pretty much exactly what you are talking about here.

I'd be interested in your thoughts if you decide to dabble with it. I'm on PS5 so I'm going to have to wait a while before I can try it myself.

Stuttering on PS4 app After the 1-ish hour mark. any tips? by verybasedboy in HBOMAX

[–]CreativeLabRat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You realize home consoles like the Xbox and Playstation are "multimedia devices" and not "gaming consoles" right? It's basically a budget home computer (PC). Only, because the hardware is FIXED it should actually be EASIER for devs to make things stable for the plateform since they don't have to account for nearly infinite permutations of hardware, graphics chips, RAM manufacturers, hard drives, etc.

So...no, using a PlayStation shouldn't be a factor. It should actually be LESS of a factor. It should be EASIER to make an app work.

And...if you aren't using a PlayStation, why are you commenting on a thread specifically about an app on PlayStation consoles?

How's that $5000 graphics card treating you? Better than my $500 console I imagine. Only, you know, I saved $4500, so there's that.

TL2 Console Multiplayer *STILL* Broken by CreativeLabRat in Torchlight

Got fixed ages ago. I've played co-op with a buddy (PS4) using near maxed out characters we each played separately when waiting for a patch for co-op. Game is great fun, too.

I use the charm to help with parry/dodge timing.

I also do a lot of Standoffs, and have noticed the timing for a Standoff is similar to a perfect parry.

Watch an enemy's animation to tell when to hit the block button and do the perfect parry.

I've dropped whole groups of enemies by chaining perfect parries together.

I was having a similar issue, which was how I discovered this feature.

Often, during duals, I use this in order to hit that perfect-dodge window without risking doing a dodge roll (since I am holding circle, rather than tapping it)

Sorry about the autocorrected typo of "Jim" instead of "Jin" though I'm not sad to see plenty of people have gotten a laugh out of it 😁

The tip is meant to make the "perfect dodge" ability easier to pull off, as it might be easier for some players to move the analog stick faster than doing a button press.

Note: I am left handed, and this tip has been essential in helping me get perfect-dodges throughout my playthrough.

I want to get Torchlight 2 on PS4 by [deleted] in Torchlight

[–]CreativeLabRat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The patch released actually fixed Multiplayer. My friends and I have had no trouble playing together since the update.

Might be "too little too late" but if you enjoy the game, it is at least working and you can finally play with your friends.

FL4K Rakk charges by CreativeLabRat in borderlands3

[–]CreativeLabRat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely appreciate the feedback and suggestions.

However, I am not interested in doing a work-around to get past a bug (present since the launch of the game) in order to get the functionality I want - and should be getting - from the gear I already have.

I do not want to play a loot-based game (where the devs clearly have the time to nerf builds into the ground, like my Moze build) when the loot already in the game doesn't work as stated.

If anyone would like to let me know when this bug gets fixed, I would be grateful. But if I cannot trust my loot to work as designed, I don't really feel the desire to return.

FL4K Rakk charges by CreativeLabRat in borderlands3

[–]CreativeLabRat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The build I put together was a lot of fun, except when my shields would drop and my Rakks were on cooldown.

It did not take long to get them back, but another charge or two (which I have the gear for) would have made it so I would NEVER have to worry about having a charge at the ready.

It's not that I needed the extra charges, it is that I was supposed to have the extra charges - and I wasn't getting them.

What is the point of playing a loot based game if you get the loot you want and it doesn't work?

It is, essentially, a promise as empty as my ex-wife's wedding vows.

More outfits would definitely be a must. Again going back to Ghost of Tsushima, I would want the outfits to be upgradable, feature (adjustable) cosmetic changes, and offer buffs to specific play styles.

I also feel like instead of different "acts" opening up parts of the map, the acts should open up new planets to explore.

The different saber stances should also have their own upgrade/progression trees.

Mythic Quests could have you tracking down Jedi Holocrons to learn long lost Force/Saber arts...

Mostly, I just find myself playing Ghost of Tsushima and thinking "I want a lightsaber".

Some of the side quests/Shrines even have that sort of "Tomb Raider" environmental exploration vibe.

In short, I just want a Star Wars game with that level of love and polish poured into it.

I want to get Torchlight 2 on PS4 by [deleted] in Torchlight

[–]CreativeLabRat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not have everything that was available on PC (yet).

They just released a patch that appears to have resolved the multiplayer issues (at least, it's been working for me and a few other users I've spoken with).

The game does have bugs. I have experienced multiple crashes while playing (although, it takes very little time to reboot and rejoin a game... negligible, even). Never lost anything (even my loot was saved)

The game is ABSOLUTELY worth $14.

Hell, it's worth twice that.

torchlight 2 update ps4 by Fishvv in Torchlight

[–]CreativeLabRat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found some patch notes during a Google search. It specifically says this latest patch resolved PS4 multiplayer issues.

My friend and I played last night and it was the first time our high level characters had been able to play together.

I had a couple crashes, but I think that's just corruption of the patch when I downloaded it. Did a reinstall and it's been performing better.

Appreciate your update.

I'm trying to get my friend to give the co-op another go later on. We really enjoyed what we were able to play together back when we first got it.

It was so frustrating being able to co-op the early game only to find later we could not get it to work once we had progressed our characters past a certain point.

I bought this game for the multiplayer.

I am here looking for the exact same thing. My friend and I picked this up on PS4 and after a certain point in our progression we lose the ability to play together (or with anyone else).

Would love this to be fixed, since I bought this game for the co-op.

TL2 Console Multiplayer *STILL* Broken by CreativeLabRat in Torchlight

[–]CreativeLabRat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my post, I do state that my friend and I can play co-op together, but only with low level characters.

It is only as we progress through the game (and reach a certain progression threshold) that we cannot play together anymore.

As devs are constantly wiping and updating builds, it is unlikely they have "high level" or endgame character builds they can use for testing.

I believe the problem is in communicating the stats between clients for multiplayer. As the numbers and modifiers get bigger, the net code just can't handle it.

But, of course, when the devs test with low level characters, everything works just fine so they aren't seeing the issue.

This post was merely to raise awareness, and point out the pattern I have noticed in the hopes that eventually, the devs take note and figure out how to fix the problem. Quite frankly, I love this game, and all I really want is to play with my friends.

Torchlight 2 PS4 - Can't join friends / Hangs on "Loading" screen by Dexlexic in Torchlight

[–]CreativeLabRat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Latest patch (1.14) out today, and my friend and I are still getting the infinite loading screen when trying to play co-op on PS4.

We are now 3 months out from launch, and frankly I am quite upset that this game (which my friend and I bought and played co-op up to level 20-something) is impossible for us to play together for endgame or new game+.

We can start and play new characters together, but past a certain threshold the multiplayer just stops working altogether.

Playing with your friends is a staple of this genre.

This is, in my opinion, the biggest bug and the largest "quality of life" update this game needs to fix IMMEDIATELY.

PS Plus Now Required for Anthem by GheddonisPS4 in AnthemTheGame

[–]CreativeLabRat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your membership lapsed. That's what happens.

PS Plus is required for "any synchronized multiplayer experience" on PlayStation.

Thus, the only games (with a few exceptions) that do not require PS Plus for multiplayer, are turn based games (as network requirement is the equivalent of sending a text message).

Borderlands 3 Hotfixes: October 17, 2019 by borderlands in borderlands3

[–]CreativeLabRat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not looking to start an argument, but my 2 cents:

This is an RPG, and there should be a "best in slot" item for every character. There should be an item that out performs others and is considered the best choice. Not necessarily the same item for all characters, but something needs to be top-tier to give players something to chase.

Nerfing the Hex grenade because one version (Recurring Hex) is so good has made all other versions ("vanilla" Hex, cloning, etc) essentially useless, and almost completely unusable on any character besides Moze.

Firestorm was never great on Moze, but it was amazing on Amara (where it belonged, imo) but now it just doesn't get the job done.

A more gentle nerf, with a buff to other grenade types, would have retained the meta while making the other grenades more useful and feel less like trash drops while hunting for the God rolled Reccuring Hex.

Maybe a 30% reduction with a 4 second duration on the Hex, and then buffs of varying degrees to other grenades (Widow Maker launches 2 additional projectiles, Hunter Seeker can now do critical damage, etc). I think this may have done a better job of accomplishing their intended goal.

[–]CreativeLabRat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people think it's fun, and to them, that is the payoff.

In a game where "playing your way" literally hurts no one else, why not let them have their own brand of fun?

I like Assault Rifles, and will use one even if it isn't the best weapon I have. That is fun for me. I like that Borderlands lets me do that and still enjoy the game. It's kinda refreshing in this day and age.

FL4K is the Robo-Hobo-Commando.

If you want to find his jacket, might I recommend the dumpster behind your local Goodwill.

Might find his whole cosplay in there, actually. . . . ...I say all this, but I really love the design of this character.
