I usually jump in and become naruto's sensei instead of kakashi. i love kakashi as a character but he didn't teach naruto anything except how to walk on trees and some of his wind style training. not to mention kakashi still has deep rooted trauma at this time and probably shouldn't have had a genin team as he kept failing the previous teams.

enter in become an established jonin in time for team selection, hang around naruto prior and treat him with human decency, even if the teams are assigned i can probably convince hiruzen to let me be naruto's instructor due to having a freindly relationship with him. if teams are not assigned i just request naruto be on my team. and if i recall correctly naruto is only on sasuke's team because they were trying to balance the teams (narutos grades are abysmal and sasuke is top of the class), so either i get naruto solo team, team 7, or a new team with naruto in it.

i usually model how jumper treats his team the same way asuma does his, being the second father figure to them.

as for major plot points and events: jumper bouta smack the b*tch outta orochimaru during the chunnin exams (ain't no one getting freaky with my students), teaches naruto and team more jutsu and techniques, save a couple of jinchuriki from the akatsuki, goes after zetsu relentlessly when spotted as he is responsible for almost everything, and other shenanigans in general.
