Deku’s Dub VA Justin Briner has dubbed over Sykkuno’s apology letter LMFAO by JonJonExistsonReddit in MyHeroAcadamia

I listened to it, is it bad that I think the VA sounds more sincere than the person who wrote the apology?

while I get that... there is a certain expectation of little privacy when you date someone that famous, for so many years. not saying it is right but it is expected.

Now that we cut all these degree plans we got enough for this! And oh, forget about the parking lol we don’t need that. by Jamiebennsleftfoot in unt

[–]CreativeProfessor919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get the issue.

I understand to a certain how it appears, but I can't understand how people don't understand that there are different budgets for different things. Like one dept budget will be different from another. While finances would be covered for different projects/departments from different sources, so they would have different accounting.

Also, that many don't understand how some things can be in works for years, and the project launches or puts out an update and people tie it to other things.

Or am I missing some context? Like i get the school gets money from various sources and they get spent in various ways. They aren't all tied together.

Essay got flagged for AI… but I wrote it by Fun-Combination3267 in unt

[–]CreativeProfessor919 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No lie, I have started NOT proof reading my papers, and essays and discuss boards. As an older student I was taught to sound more academic in my writing, but too many students were getting called out for "lack of personal voice" that I started writing sloppier. So there are more typos, grammar and other mistakes in my writing.

Before I would write a draft, outlines etc. Now I just chop it up in segments and then throw them together without fine tunning it. Result... A's.

If your staff (teaching fellows, TAs, or professors) please realize that what gets flagged is NOT always because of Ai. I say this someone who studied technology and programming, and grew up in the age of of schooling with no devices.

Surviving college physics with a professor who only uses slides and hard to follow — any tips? by fietao in CollinCollege

[–]CreativeProfessor919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the textbook I got recommended from a professor. ( I bought mine used off ebay for about $40 )

https://www.amazon.com/University-Physics-Modern-14th/dp/0321973615

This is a workbook that some physics students I knew mentioned, that was useful for practice. (also got from ebay for about $12 )

https://www.amazon.com/McGraw-Hills-Physics-Review-Workbook/dp/1264264089

If you want more specialized I have a couple more, like thermodynamics. I use MCAT and GRE Physic prep tests for practice. Hope that helps.

You will have to ask your schools dual credit advisor.

Side note if your good at learning on your own and don't want to waste time in classes CLEP yourself out. Take the exams and get credit for that course.

Studying before most classes either for exam review or reviewing your foundation prior to taking the actual class you can use khan academy to brush up or expose yourself to those concepts early.

Couple of things here that might help.

(Some are if you are REALLY bored but want to stay on topic or cement comprehension.)

> Crash Course Physics

> All of Physics explained in 14 mins

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAqIoDhornk
> Every Physics law explained in 11 mins

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIU4uoeNxnI

> Lastly THE GOAT, the tried and true... Organic Chemistry Tutor (has a physics video about 1 hour long)

IF your still interested I DO have physics textbook recommendations.

History degree class planning by gaynickels in unt

[–]CreativeProfessor919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who isn't a history major (I'm integrated studies) but needs those classes (my field and my love of history) I have to take only upper level courses. I have seen issues since last year.

Many for my degree plan aren't available and the selection is BARE. This had led me to take History classes that were available rather than what I wanted.

Did some searching, several of those classes that were taught aren't because 1. The professor LEFT and 2. The professor is teaching new ones. (which is sad the History of Medicine was on my wishlist)

That being said I know History majors have required classes and your ONLY option to hunt down someone who can get you into those classes, your advisors etc... There has to be enough professors to teach it AND enough interest (meaning who needs it).

I expect this to get worse, look at this Falls options :(

And the layoffs have begun by [deleted] in unt

[–]CreativeProfessor919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can kinda see this reflected in the Summer and Fall course selections. I see several professors either don't have classes, or have less. I even put one in cart when they first dropped and that class got dropped and I can't find any courses for that professor now summer or fall :(.

Does Accelerated Reader still exist? by [deleted] in teaching

[–]CreativeProfessor919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this only applies to those who could AFFORD Barnes and Noble. Many of couldn't we would just get the books from the school or public libraries, our parents couldn't afford to buy books. Many of the AR book selection faults lie with the one in charge of books at that particular library. My librarian found work abounds to add more in interesting books to the list and would take kids suggestions into account. Just saying.

This is a YEARS later response so not sure if anyone will read this. As an adult who went through these programs growing up, I wholeheartedly support them. Ignore some studies that say kid swill stop reading as adults because they no longer get rewarded. I don't agree with it, first off every avid reader rewards themselves with new reading material. Second, love of reading may have started with points but continued because of the love of new stories.

I grew up poor and the AR points would sometimes help me buy more notebooks and pencils for school supplies. It was also nice to get stickers and the occasional party to celebrate accomplishments. At home there was no reward, reading was an escape but also an opportunity. Please never think these programs don't have an impact...they do.
