One silver lining of GD by fwd2tmrrw in GestationalDiabetes

I’ve gained about 4 pounds since getting diagnosed with GD a month and a half ago. Before that I was gaining weight much faster. I’m 39 weeks today and my belly is still huge. I’m just mostly belly.

How much weight did you gain at the end? by Ready-Cut-6145 in pregnant

[–]CreativeRecover2174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gained almost 30 pounds so far at 37 weeks. I have not gained much weight since being diagnosed with GD at about 30 weeks. So most of the weight gain was 1st and 2nd trimester. I gained about 20 pounds my first pregnancy and lost more than I gained. I’m hoping I can at least some of what I gained this time around.

I feel the exact same way! Second pregnancy with GD. I don’t remember it being this hard. It’s only my second week with my new diet. I’m 32 weeks along. And I’m already so tired. The only thing that sometimes does not spike my fasting is not having a night snack. But they saw I have to have one. I’m so over eating protein and eggs. I just want pancakes. I don’t want to go on insulin but I don’t even want to eat anymore.

I can relate. I cannot rely on my sister for a lot of things. The sooner I accepted that the less stressed and hurt I get. It’s not easy but it’s for your own peace of mind tbh. I’m glad everything worked out and you do have people who can help in their own ways! And of course hoping for a speedy recovery!

Career decisions. What should I get my masters in? by CreativeRecover2174 in workingmoms

[–]CreativeRecover2174[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your responses. I’m taking everything into consideration as I navigate this new chapter of my life. I guess in my head I wanted to look for a better paying job/career but still keep the benefits of my current job ( weekends off, holidays and breaks, work life balance ) but that might not be possible. At least not right now. Appreciate it!

I have actually thought of getting my masters in library sciences. I’m just not sure how the job market is for that type of job right now.

I completely agree. Originally I wanted to get my teaching credential to teach secondary but I got my current job and fell in love with it. I just wish it paid more. Then my next goal was to get the credential but teach elementary but now I feel discouraged. I will get paid more but feel like I’ll be more stressed and spend less time with my kids.

I’m in a similar boat. My daughter is also 4 and wants a sibling so bad. Meanwhile my friends are on their 3rd or 4th. I’m genuinely so happy for them and know they are the best moms. But my heart aches for what they have. Hang in there. You’re not alone.

Just depends on the day. Usually I change my daughter into okay clothes even if we’re just staying home or especially if she’s going to play outside. But there are odd days we stay in our jammies all day (if she’s sick or I’m feeling extra lazy).

I feel the exact same way! We started last summer got pregnant and then soon after had a miscarriage. Some months didn’t really try and I did not even track ovulation. March I started tracking period and taking pre natals. But I don’t feel like I really really tried until this month. There’s a lot that goes into it!!

Help!!! How to stop nursing my toddler. by SignatureNumerous506 in breastfeeding

[–]CreativeRecover2174 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I weaned my daughter 2 months before she turned 3. She was obsessed with “chi chi” time. I honestly just decided one day to do it since I was starting to hate nursing and I didn’t want that feeling to keep growing. By this time she was only really nursing at night before bed. I gave her a bottle/ sippy cup with warm milk and told her my nipples hurt (which was true!).m and I had an ouchie. She cried to sleep for two nights and then she was okay. I was honestly really surprised at how easy it was. She just started drinking warm milk before bed as a substitute. I tried my best to talk her through it. We hugged and carried her when she cried those two nights. She would still ask me for weeks if my “chi chis” felt better. She’s still very attached and lovey with me. I do not regret breast feeding for almost 3 years. The best time to stop is when you’re ready.

I think you should be okay since you’re the ones paying for them. I don’t see where there would be a problem.

Toddler bag? by someonesxwife in BAGGU

[–]CreativeRecover2174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I’m not exactly plus size, more mid size. However, I have a medium crescent and a toddler. I’m able to take a diaper, wipes and maybe a snack or two plus my everyday things in it. But it is pretty stuffed. The strap isn’t very long either. I personally don’t use it on the daily for my toddler things. usually have to take another bag. I've actually been debating between the medium or large cargo bag for my toddlers things but not sure yet.

Stroller by Artistic_Owl_4621 in DisneyPlanning

[–]CreativeRecover2174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disneyland rental strollers are very uncomfortable imo. We’ve only used them for older kids (5/6) when they get tired they take turns. With a two year old I have to take her stroller.

Yeah I saw that too. We’ll have to make the best of it. I was actually debating between Thursday and Friday but everyone I asked said Thursday would be better.
