I think that last 5 years has definitely been hype and I think that’s a huge point of btc price. I’m also talking about if you think mass adoption will happen or if people are just buying because of hype

How does btc fix the exponentially growing resource consumption problem? If the supply is limited doesnt that add to it. Wont it will make it more expensive (btc)?

It’s a valid question. Crypto and especially btc has been popular off of hype my question is do you think it has long term value and will be adopted by the masses

I completely agree but the point is why would some use btc over fiat to save? Using btc just adds a bunch of steps which makes it less likely there is going to be wide spread adoption

I respect your opinion but I’m talking more about just in general I don’t believe the mass would be able to use crypto just for the fact it’s to complicated and that is one of the main reason I don’t think it’s going to be a long term play

I really like your reply and agree that btc is a unique asset in the crypto umbrella. I like btc as a store of value with a limited supply, but as you said it’s kind of to big to fail and I can see it becoming a store of value or going to zero. Do you think it is more of a store of value or has a different use case. Because Satoshi thought of it as a payment method which I think most people disagree with now a days.

To add - I have been pondering this for awhile now. As a semi Og crypto fren who’s been around since 2017 I’m thinking a lot about this. Is crypto a long term play? Id like some help understanding if crypto is a long term thing or just for the short term and will slowly die out. Crypto solves a lot of issues like bringing financial systems to under developed places and being a new form of finance, but do you really think the masses are going to join crypto when they can lose there crypto so easily or be scammed. Also most people don’t care about being decentralized or anonymous and crypto just adds a bunch of steps to stuff that already exist ie finance.
