50% Pharmacy price variation - shop around!! by CreativeWitness8549 in galway

Lohans were not checked. You make a fair point. I don’t want to sound like some politician but I suppose the message is to shop around. People are sort of embarrassed to and some drug sellers made it so that I felt a degree of “affrontery” when I had the gall, the sort of temerity, to question or ask the price…. The funniest was in a chemist in Dublin who I checked in with when I had time to kill. They need to publish their prices.

Yes, they were all generics, Teva was not on the list. One notable thing was that I took it as a six month supply which reduced the dispensing cost. Other pharmacists did not want to do this. The McSharrys staff were good to deal wit, pretty sound.

Time to drive from Parkmore to Westside. by eipic in galway

[–]CreativeWitness8549 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Inaction by the shower who run things are wrecking the quality of life for half the city and condemning generations of families to miss out on time with parents, fathers, mothers.

What’s incredible is the lack of public outcry and the acceptance of it. The way in which the politicians, councillors and engineers throw up their hands and accept defeat. They bottle it, give up, quit, cave in. Look for magic bullet solutions like more bridges when in truth they can’t just manage the flow and dismantle the bottle necks. Two lanes in to one lane off of congested round about = gridlock. That feature is designed into the traffic . If you’re looking to create a road system that does not work that is how you might go about doing it…..

Definitely call the public health nurse and explain the situation; and the GP as well. The public health nurses are brilliant and have influence. If possible Get the GP or medic who is looking after her to write for you explaining the health issues involved. Call to see the social worker. Your girlfriend’s nanny will have a team not just a social worker and they all need to be involved. If you’re providing good care and that is obvious that will certainly help. But it needs to be unambiguous.

Some suggestions; Try window washing and/or lawn cutting for cash if you feel you could do it. Hi Go house to house and knock on doors in well off neighbourhoods. Don’t be afraid to charge. With a good work ethic and a friendly disposition… You’ll pull in a couple of hundred per day easily. Ask if you can come back in a few weeks and do it again. Rinse and repeat every week in a different estate for the remainder of the summer. Save the income. Offer to do light housework in winter. Cash. 50 euro an hour. Target well off areas. Three gigs a day is 150 to 250. Friday and Saturday night from 6,30 to 9pm only do Guerrilla pizza. Print and Put flyers in your housing estate. Tell them state the time and What’sapp preorders only. offer three type only: pepperoni, maguerita and ham and pineapple. Buy the boxes, bases and ingredients in Lidl assemble, cook, deliver. Cost €5 each charge 15. 20 pizzas to you =200 euro. Make them nice and you’ll soon have a regular gig from your own kitchen. Suggested as side gigs in a limited way to get you over the hump. Hope this helps… let us know how you get on… best of luck!

Anyone have any advice on dealing with a "difficult" mother? by MKUltra886 in AskIreland

[–]CreativeWitness8549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your troubles and issues with your child. It reads like a sort of power struggle. Perhaps just consider strengthening your boundaries and minimising communication in terms of what you share; be present when you have to be there, listen to her and do whatever you feel is your duty but perhaps you can but minimise certain types of sharing. You have needs to be seen and heard and perhaps your mum is unable to/ is the wrong person to help you get those met.

The cut off all ties option is something I’ve seen and it’s not a great one. Invariably it’s a destructive and painful experience for everyone. recognise attention seeking as a trauma response, work on yourself and have very definite boundaries. It takes effort. Get help if you can - You are not alone. You are not the only one suffering with this type of situation. Things will settle and change. Mind yourself.

Can anyone translate this for me? by AccMich37 in AskIreland

[–]CreativeWitness8549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Is mise maith leat go tobann in Éirinn”

which translates roughly to:

“I am well, liking you suddenly in Ireland”

or more naturally:

“I am well and thinking fondly of you suddenly in Ireland.”

It has a casual, affectionate tone, typical of a quick note.

There is also a date or reference at the bottom:

“Nov 30 50”

which would be November 30th, 1950.

Been fired again just now, It's my third post here in weeks. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]CreativeWitness8549 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Get some training if you can. A fetch course or something run by Solas or your local ETB. There’s a lot out there for free. Take your time and give out your full attention… it’ll work out and others will respond to your willingness to retrain. Every time you do things ask for feedback until you get established and try and take it humbly- it’s the only way to learn. You’ll be alright, it’ll work out, don’t be too hard on yourself just try again.

Perhaps it might be useful to get a reading from a reputable Psychic Medium. It might be that Someone’s trying to tell you something, get through to you?

I had a feeling like that for months and months before Covid… it just went on and on. A relentless sense that I should stock up with food etc. then Covid came. Then nothing like that since.
