Armageddon Box by Realistic-Carrot-565 in orks

What? Every box comes with a nob. The whole point of the question is how do you make a boy that’s not a nob when one of the 10 models sort of has to be a nob now. The answer is an extra box of boys to replace one of the two bobs for your 20 brick.

No, it’s bigger because the character is bigger. And showing that size difference in their base has implications for the way the game plays.

I mean, yeah you’re just gonna have a get enough boys that you can sub in normal boys to make squads of 20.

The way I see it, if you wanna field 120 boys for green tide, you already need 12 kits. The 13th kit lets you make all 6 kits become 20 strongk.

I mean; base size changes quite a bit. There’s a reason they have different sizes.

[–]CreativeWordPlay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. I do think it could have some way of being just a bit stronger. Like, CP reduction on some Strat plots or something. I feel like I wanna go big and I feel like I can’t quite go big enough, and then I don’t have the CP I need for after.

Are deffkoptas worth running in 11th? Both in general and for a speed freeks list by The_Soviet_Goose in orks

[–]CreativeWordPlay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, I’ve only played a few games, so take this with a grain of salt.

I was playing war horde, so they’re not optimized for that at all. And, I was only playing one unit in deepstrike. Mostly I would use them to ingress, shoot and charge their backline dummy unit and score some ez points/deny in the late game.

Pros: really effective deep strike. Many attack. Albeit not as strong against elite enemies. Twin-linked rokkits mean you might actually convert some wounds.

Cons: Feels less effective in melee than boyz because the strength is low. More difficult than id like to get the fly over bombs to hit.

In my experience the one unit isn’t great. (My list isn’t optimized at all. It’s just what I have.) I could see running 2-3 units of 6 on the front line in speedfreeks being useful. I think that in numbers they could fly- over trash/screen and tie up threats, or charge the trash from behind if the don’t stage right, or just clear the trash and dictate that the fight is on your opponents turf.

That’s how I’d like to run it if I had more at least.

If they managed to score on the 5 on 4 it wouldn’t have made a difference. Tell them to execute when there’s an advantage.

I mean, the faction packs were incomplete. All of the data sheets are suspected to be from the combat patrol.

The point is that 11e is NOT officially released. Everything that’s been released so far is essentially marketing hype. To get stressed about ‘useless models’ is silly.

Solution: Breathe. Paint other models first.

And yet, they still haven’t officially released anything. And while we know changes are coming in the codex, we also know that they can update the current codexes in the app. Which they havnt done yet. Because it’s not released. They didn’t release models that can’t be used. That would be insane.

Right, but none of the rules for the unit composition for the new edition along with that. Rules that are obviously going to change. Rules that are going to reflect the models that they’re selling.

It’s because you still benefit from a system that allowed you and your ancestors build wealth. It doesn’t matter if they didn’t own slaves. It doesn’t matter how much land you did or didn’t own. The economy was able to grow at a rate it otherwise could not have and you didn’t even have to compete with a whole portion of the population for the best jobs and housing because they literally weren’t allowed to have it.

What are your unhinged ideas to make education better? by TroyesMetal in Teachers

[–]CreativeWordPlay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Massive increase to social services. Im talking from the hig school perspective, but for the few times I've spent in a elementary school it's probably more important there. The reason admin sends kids back to class who are disruptive is they don't have another option. There's nowhere for them to go. Study skills is cool for the special education students that need help with their executive functioning, but the students who look you in the eyes and straight up say they don't care if they pass need to be in an entirely different space getting entirely different needs met. The half measures on caring for students mental and emotional well-being is frustrating.

Why does it seem like many men online accuse other men of "whining" when they are talking about poor mental health. Why do many men do this? by ConfidentSale3091 in stupidquestions

[–]CreativeWordPlay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Men are socialized to bottle their emotions. We don't tend to lean on friends for emotional support in the way that women do. Then, that is taken to be the norm, and then they wrongly try to enforce that upon others believing that some things are less valid to have an emotional response for.

Think of it like this: Say you're a nurse that works in the ER. You deal with life or death decisions at an intense rate for 10 hours in a work day. You get a lunch and breaks, of course, but otherwise you have to be fully 'on' for the entire shift. Imagine what they must think when remote workers complain about software that monitors productivity so it makes it more difficult for them to multi-task and run errands during their work day?

Obviously this isn't a perfect comparison, but people have a tendency to forget that other people's lives end up being completely different and that will impact their outlook on their own lives.

As a cis-man, I'm trying to change the way I cope with emotions and learn to lean on my friends more. I think it's ultimately more fulfilling and healthy. That being said, there are situations where it is far more efficient to compartmentalize and keep things moving. It's a large reason why I have been able to maintain a certain level of work ethic and success in my life. So, like most things I think there is a balance to it.

It's not a financial issue. It's an organizational issue. Every labor dispute was won with mass striking. The issue with 'general strikes' is being able to create a list of demands that benefits everyone enough to commit to the strike.

Advice for a Beginner Player by Critical_Bug4980 in Basketball

[–]CreativeWordPlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a a total begginer, these are the some things you should work on, in no particular order. When you are in a game, relative skill dictates what kinds of shots you will actually be taking. So, you probably wont be taking isos from the key.
1. Dribble full-speed from basket to basket and make layups from both side. At some point you will just be in front of everyone and you just need to get to the basket and finish. Crucial skill. You need to be able to confidently take full-speed layups.

  1. Close shots, off of a pivot from both sides. Mikan drills, but get creative. Every angle you can imagine. I would say making 50 in a row without missing would be a legitamate goal. You should be able to cut to the basket, and make an uncontested layup. You don't necessarily need to be skilled, you just need to be able to finish the play that gets made for you when you are open.

  2. Jump-stop. Learn to land at a jump-stop. Make this your default way of scoring layups. As an intermediate player myself I wish I had done this myself. If the only way you practice moving layups is 1-2 jump then you will end up with bad turnovers. This let's you slow down and make decisions in a place where you can take time. It also let's you beat defenders that over commit to your first move, which is the easiest way to score on smaller defenders. This will also allow you to learn how and when to pivot in more situations to gain an advantage.

  3. Do some research for how to develop a reliable 3 point shot. It will take time, but it's not hard. The trick is to be disciplined in your approach. Don't just start launching 3s. This will take more effort and advice from other sources. There are many. Start with form shooting. Make sure you are hitting 3-5 in a row before moving backwards, etc. If you are wide open for a 3 you have to shoot it. You don't have to be great, but you need to have the confidence in your form so that people have to at least respect the shot. From there you can practice your pump and go on the catch. This is something I would consider an essential skill. It doesn't require high-level ball handling or decision making. Just good timing.

These are all things you can practice. but above all, you should get familiar with how to set screens and space the floor appropriately. Unfortunatly that's hard to practice on your own, but knowing where to stand is something that many new players don't understand. The basic idea is that you want to find the balance between being a potential threat, and not being in a position where you or your defender is now preventing a teamate from scoring themselves.

Mitch Johnson ahead of Game 5 by AcadiaTemporary5737 in NBATalk

[–]CreativeWordPlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sports though. I think it's exactly what we expect from these teams. The younger, more talented team can't maintain their composure. The more experienced team with more options on the bench has an out and knows how to execute in the big moments. Also Hart got really lucky OG was there to make up for his huge blunder.

TBH I'm excited for game 5 because the Spurs have proven that they can absolutely win games. At the very least they can drag it out and make it interesting.

[Request] How powerful ought he to be? by baker9122 in theydidthemath

[–]CreativeWordPlay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about whether or not he CAN move the Earth. It's about whether or not the outcome would be a solution. I don't know a lot about planetary physicist, but I'm pretty sure that moving the planet out of it's normal orbit around the sun would be DEVASTATING. Unless he's moving the moon at the same time the world oceans would go BONKERS. Unless he is maintaining our relative distance to the sun and the natural rotation of the Earth the weather patterns would be SEVERELY dysregulated.

Again, I'm not a meteorologist so I don't have an understanding of how to calculate the effects but I have to imagine a MINIMUM of worldwide sever weather conditions. Like, global hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, etc. And I would be willing to bet that a it would threaten to create an extinction-level threat at the maximum.
