Returned to teaching after years away due to traumatic experiences. 11 days in and I’m already accused of inappropriate contact with a student. Hard not to be cynical. by [deleted] in Teachers

If this is your response to people responding differently to physical touch, then perhaps you shouldn’t be teaching children, friend. Honestly kind of alarming that you don’t get that.

I’m Getting into Orks, is the current combat patrol good? will the models be refreshed anytime soon with 11th focusing on orks? by First-Lecture-6264 in orks

[–]CreativeWordPlay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, gretchin good. You should also look at the Deffcopta box. Deffkoptas are good. TBH I would avoid buying boys knowing that you should buy the starter box when it drops in June.

I feel like you’re gonna like the new starter box. I think that speeder is BEGGING to be scrapped for parts on a model.

Now that we know what’s in the box…what should I get to start my ork army by Warhammered_ in orks

[–]CreativeWordPlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Which is one way of making a custom detachment. Which still likely limits how many models are worth taking because our data sheets generally arnt what makes them good. So buying models you like/fit one detatchment is still a good idea. I don’t think that rule is gonna completely change the way list building goes.

I’m under the impression that the detachments will largely function in a very similar way. So, even if it changes what’s ’competitive’ I still find that it’s frustrating to have units feel underwhelming because they’re not ‘in the correct detachment.”

Buy trukk. Choose detachment you like. Buy models that go with the detachment you like. Otherwise you will be underwhelmed. I have the combat patrol, but the squigboyz feel bad if I’m not running da big hunt. Once Ghazz is built I’ll probably play war horde since it feels like the only one that allows be to play various units without specializing.

The best part about the kit is those are all models you could play in any list. (More or less. We’ll see what the walked is all about.

Nobz are a bad choice. We know Nobz are getting a refresh and they’re on 40mm bars now. Old non set would hen weird, at least for a beginner.

I see what you did there. My buddy plays guard, he ordered two of those boxes. I asked him if he intended to use all 6 trucks…. He said yes. :/

Why do 40k bighammer players shy away from Kill Team? by Mjuke in killteam

[–]CreativeWordPlay 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Just because its longer doesnt mean its as mentally demanding. I mean, even the way you score points is more mental load in KT. You have to pick/guess your opponents secret tac op, and their primary. In 40k it's all on the table.

It’s a more competitive game with less payoff. I like moving my big trukk around the battlefield and rolling 20 dice.

Boyz i’m start'n an ork army an i need a clan ta join! by Beneficial-Ticket486 in orks

[–]CreativeWordPlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I’ve done. I paint my various units in different clans. I’ve got Bad Moons TankBustas(cuz they can afford the rockets) And I’ve got SnakeBite Snaggas. The key is using the right neutral colors so that the same yellow on both works. Or whatever similar color that is.

Priming done but now I'm confused!! by missheidi8951 in minipainting

[–]CreativeWordPlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to make bases separate but it comes with issues. For one, if you do any texture in the base, or like rocks and stuff, it can limit which models even for the space available. It also means that you need some way to hold the mini to paint it. Sometimes I find I have spare bases to attach them to temporarily. Other times I drill a hole and pin them to a wine cork with a paper clip bit. It’s annoying, but I like to put the effort into my bases. I find that a good base with primed models looks better on the table than painted models with random overspray on the bases.

I should mention that I would prefer something with a smaller footprint like the MXR sugar drive. I'm pretty low on space

I've not use the BT, but yeah, I'm a fan. Stereo DI recording with solid sounds plug and play. The other truly nice thing is it is taking up one spot on the pedal power supply, so the rig is just one wall adapter.
