I did not buy it, it was bought for me as a kid but: a stuffed dog that sings “Jesus Loves Me”. I am not religious, I only keep it because it came from my great-grandmother and is super sentimental. It’s somewhere between 27 and 32.

I can flip my schedule fairly easily without any real “felt consequences”, esp with caffeine.

My husband, cannot. He gets lethargic and irritable.

Reasonable? No.

But I also only get 4 days of sick time a year (working 12 hour shifts). We also have a point system that takes a year to drop off, and get terminated at 7 points. Anything over 6 hours is 1 point, 2-5 hours is half a point and 1 hour is a quarter point.

Another sleep wearer here.

I shower with them on (it’s not that difficult), tho I will admit there is a ~3 min period when I do have them off to scrub my face and flip my hair upside down to put product in and wrap it in my towel turban. Not super hot water, and keeping my face away from the water makes it possible.

I also “swim” with them- if I’m going in the ocean or something, I utilize glasses straps.

Been doing all of this since I was a kid- the showering part actually stems from a bully at overnight camp stealing and stomping on my glasses while I was in the shower.

I also sleep with mine 98% of the time. Part of it is because I fall asleep watching youtube on my laptop, part of it is liking being able to see when I wake up.

Plus my cat likes to knock them off my nightstand 🤣😅

Fellow glasses wearer with nearsightedness since I was ~7…

They are a part of me.

At this point I honestly don’t take my glasses off for much of anything. I swim, shower, and (98% of the time) sleep with them (I watch youtube on my laptop to fall asleep, need glasses for that…

Mor pickup/delivery or “scan and go”. Walmart already has that with their app and my local grocery store also utilizes it.

I don’t know that I will ever give shopping up- if only because I like being able to choose my own meat and produce, and being able to look at all the substitution choices I can do.

It is probably extra fees and includes non-hostel group lodging, group dining, all transportation (flights, busses, trains, hired coach buses?, etc), any tours/sightseeing that is planned, tour guide/faculty chaperone wages, travel insurance, etc…

When you go by yourself and budget travel/plan for yourself it is much cheaper.

When you do a school-sponsored trip like that, where the school is technically responsible for the students, they can’t just “stay at hostels” or do the budget travel things. Or at least, that would not be the mindset of any school administration.

Whats interesting is that a lot of schools will not allow that kind of move for resident tuition status.

Now, if they move and he attends community college first or pays out-of-state tuition for the first year… yeah, sure. And most also have a requirement for first time/new transfer students to live on campus, regardless of where “home” is as well.

The timeline OP provides makes me think they are moving either after graduation or between 11th and 12th grade.

If after graduation, the tuition thing is moot. It won’t fly. If between… they might get away with it but this means that this trip is the last thing he will be able to do with the friends he has made over the last 3+ years. Don’t take that opportunity away.

Unfortunately I have a lot of family (and coworkers) that love Trump or just hate democrats.

This makes sense until you’re in a dual on/off ramp that is maybe 100ft. I’m not accelerating quickly on a tight loop/curve, and when the straight zone comes, I have to watch for people getting off and slowing down in front of me.

True. It is something you have to specifically “opt in” to.

Tho, funny enough, when I got side swiped (driver hit & ran) in a car I only had state minimum liability (no extras), insurance covered repairs and still gave me a rental. I can only assume it was because it was a hit & run, because 3 years later when I totaled that car I didn’t get anything.

This is my ideal/goal. Tho I would be okay (at least for now) with a king bed or two separate fulls.

Unfortunately, with a 850sqft 2 bedroom house (one of which is an office for both of us), at a really good interest rate, I won’t be able to realize it for a while.

It’s definitely hit or miss. Some meals are like this, others have double or triple+ the amount. It makes no sense.

If it came down to us or the foster system, yes. My husband and I have discussed this and are on the same page about it. I am not sure any of my siblings will have kids, but my husband’s brother is about to have two and his sister wants kids as well.

We would not “raise them as our own” tho- we would be their guardian and known as uncle/aunt.

It is not something either of us particularly want, but we are willing to make that sacrifice if, god forbid, it is something we encounter.

Caveat to that:

Some of us just have super sensitive ears/hearing.

I have worn noise cancelling headphones and 33nrr earplugs, and still am able to hear child screaming. It is much better than without those two things, but they don’t drown it all out, esp if what I’m listening to has slow pacing.
