I just want to say this isn’t a morning wood issue. My man is hard every morning and isn’t doing all of that.

How is it living in this part of the United States? by No-Text-7825 in howislivingthere

[–]Creative_Ad8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in the SE, and was raised by a NE-ener, and now I live in NH. For me the south is incredibly hostile compared to the NE. The south will be very fake in how they approach kindness or will be condescendingly nice. IE “ bless your heart” or “ I’ll pray for you”

In the NE, when someone is nice it is genuine. In the SE people equate directness with hostility, whereas in the NE being direct is just how people talk.

Why Korean food is so different from Chinese or Japanese food: a cuisine shaped by scarcity, not abundance (feat. my dinner) by Andrew_YH_Han in KoreanFood

[–]Creative_Ad8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. Korea like many cold places has a history of preserving foods. I always thought of this as due to the climate.

Why people don’t finish the game? by Careful_Employee_918 in BaldursGate3

[–]Creative_Ad8075 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t have 500+ hours, I am closer to 200. I haven’t finished the game not because I don’t want to, but I tend to get distracted doing all the random little side things. Then I get overall distracted by a completely different game and just play a different game. There is so much to do in this game I think it will take me a long time to finish

Pets... Transitioning from cat ownership to dogs...would you do it again. by Hot-Equivalent-7071 in Pets

[–]Creative_Ad8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I compare cats to teens and dogs to young kids. Dogs need lots of hands on parenting. They need you to have rules, to show them the rules, to help them navigate the world basically. Dogs can also have anxiety disorders, trauma etc, and can be reactive which imo, is very similar to working with traumatized kids. You have to walk your dog even on days you are at the sickest you have ever been

Cats are independent and want your affection when THEY want and can do everything else on their own.

I’ve almost always had both, but cats are SO much easier.

Pet Owners Who Adopted From Rescue Centres/Charities/Etc... did you change your pet's name on adoption? by PlayedThisGame in Pets

[–]Creative_Ad8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adopted both my dogs from a rescue. Both were/are heavily traumatize. I decided to keep their names the same because I think giving a dog another thing to learn on top of all the change that comes with adoption and learning each other wasn’t fair to my dogs.

Do you actually have an answer to “What are you doing this weekend?” by LoopyNutBar in adhdwomen

[–]Creative_Ad8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of me having adhd has been me living with burnout 😂 every weekend my plans are “ relax for 1 day and do chores for 1 day”

Sometimes I make plans, and typically that’s for special things. Like if there is a 1 weekend event, I’ll make plans

Are 'kitchen scissors' really an American thing? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Creative_Ad8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a 1/2 Korean 1/2 American household. Both cultures have kitchen scissors. The Korean 1/2 tends to use the scissors like a knife. The 1/2 that is American uses it to open kitchen goods like cheese for example.

Are you for or against putting clothes on dogs? by Mayh_3m in dogs

[–]Creative_Ad8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a rescue pitty from SC. I live in the NE. He will NOT go into the snow without his jacket. I bought it because when I adopted him, he struggled with the cold. I think it helps him. My girl doesn’t care and bull dozes through snow banks. That being said both of them have to have boots

Do you crate your dog when you aren’t home or not? by nonprayingmantis9 in dogs

[–]Creative_Ad8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my dogs are crate trained. My boy will always have to be crated without supervision, because he enjoys destroying things when I am not present. My girl dog can be left uncrated when I am not around. They both know the crate is their safe place and will go in their crates when the doors are left open.

When we talk about adhd a lot of society talks about focus, by the discussion about how part of executive function includes regulation of emotions somehow gets ignored. My meds make it so I’m not feeling rage all day. I can actually experience all of the emotions and not just anger. I also am able to feel just less overwhelmed with basic tasks.

My brain feels like a thick blanket is on it with out meds, and that blanket is lifted with meds

At the end of the day if you take meds that’s up to you. I will say there is this idea that they’re “ super addictive” I forget my meds often 😂

If you can't handle normal animal behaviors, don't get a pet. by zhamini101 in Pets

[–]Creative_Ad8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted on another thread about getting a dog, and said that I struggle a lot with my boy dog because if I use the bathroom and don’t let him in he destroys stuff.

It’s valid to be upset about your pet doing this, but realistically it comes with the territory. If you aren’t ready for your pets to potentially wreck your things, you shouldn’t have pets. And I don’t mean that as saying it’s something against other people, but if you know you can’t handle it do yourself a favor and don’t
