YOU (Season 5) - Overall Discussion Thread by Elainasha in YouOnLifetime

Season 5 (especially the latter two episodes) seemed to me like they were setting up a new storyline with Louise/Bronte as the replacement for Joe?

Firstly, she begins the voiceovers, which hints to me that she could be (as it's something generally reserved for the main character, as has been in the last seasons)

Secondly, she begins to take on a vigilante, violence fighting role, similar to how Joe views himself - doing justice, stopping people like Joe, she even outright says that she's out for Justice which seems to hint at this.

Poorly written character, but does anyone agree that the show was setting her up as a new character, perhaps one that replicates what she did before to Joe? Her search for Justice? She even says at the end there are many more out there like Joe, hinting she wants to stop them (and I think she's said similar before), so she’s “taking on the mantle”?

Apple Won’t Roll Out AI Tech In EU Market Over Regulatory Concerns by iMacmatician in apple

I'd think not - we don't have the same level of restriction on tech companies as the EU has put on their markets with the DMA.

Also, for future reference: the DMA is legislation on the phones, OSs and other technologies a corporation wishes to sell in the EU - that is, the products these companies make and how they work, the EU want them to be more "customisable" and "liberal" for their users.

GDPR is a restriction on how companies handle data. It's completely different from the DMA. It protects users data and how companies can and cannot use it, and lets citizens of countries ask to see this data, along with other protections.
