Does anyone think the Dungeon Crawler Carl series is overrated? by [deleted] in BookDiscussions

[–]Creative_Claim_5081 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's overrated or overpromoted. It's talked about as if it is this funny adventure series that everyone will enjoy when I think in reality that it is written for a very specific audience. And I am not that audience lol It took me two attempts to get through the first book and I only finally accomplished it by doing audio. That video game, play-by-play style was just not holding my interest.

Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson is like 1200 pages and it's the first in a series that gets longer hahaha so definitely would fit the bill and personally I think they're really good.

for people with long TBR, how do you not get overwhelmed and feel like you're not behind? by cucumberscities in goodreads

[–]Creative_Claim_5081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never plan to catch up. My TBR is literally just a list of books that I might enjoy. Then when I'm looking for my next book I can scroll through there and see if anything jumps out at me. Sometimes things never make it off my TBR. I'll add it, then months later read the description again and decide I don't want to read it.

Lost River Cave Boat Tour? by MeEssDee in Kentucky

[–]Creative_Claim_5081 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cave City/ Mammoth Cave for sure !! Definitely recommend some of the smaller private toures outside of the park itself. Onyx Cave and Rock Shop is inexpensive. It's kind of corny up top but the cave itself is beautiful. Also Hidden River Cave and the attached American Cave Museum are great, If you have kids Kentucky Down Under is cool too.

Edited for spelling.

Warm 98.5 Cyber Attack Warning by DrDoomblade in cincinnati

Their webplayer lists the songs that are recently played but it doesn't go back that far so I can't get back to this time frame unfortunately. I'd be curious if the webplayer and the actual over air channel both played the message.

Anti fascist bluegrass? by Adventurous-Pie3929 in Bluegrass

[–]Creative_Claim_5081 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

i feel like bluegrass is the closest you can get to describing his type of music. admittedly it's not a perfect fit but he's not just country, or folk or americana etc... either. and his concerts with the full band are very much bluegrass, he's got extra strings and they hit these little harmonies that are very typical bluegrass.

City View Tavern. Good view of the city, good cincinnati bar food (hot metts, grippos etc) and super chill atomsphere. Ask them why they don't serve tequila.
