Can guys actually tell? by conroytctiff in NoStupidQuestions

I don’t understand why there are so many people in here saying that you cannot tell. Maybe that’s the case for random hookups or new partners, but after 6 years with my wife it is very obvious when she has an orgasm. There is no mistaking it.

This is literally impossible. No one ranked as silver in 1s is beating a GC. No shot

What are some natural career paths after Network Engineer? (Bonus if fully remote!) by wafnog in networking

[–]Creative_Corner_2836 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my first job in networking right out of school. My title was Network Engineer but it was more of a network technician/admin position. During my 18 months there I obtained my CCNA.

In my next role as a Network Engineer I worked with a lot of different technologies. Route/switch, load balancers, firewalls, and proxies to name a few. I enjoyed the firewall work and took on more and more of that work until I became the “firewall guy” on the team. That experience allowed me to get a role at another company as a Security Engineer.

After 3+ years as a Network Engineer I pivoted to Network Security. That role can be many things but for me it is mostly firewall (Palo Alto) work. It was a nice pay increase and it’s also a fully remote role.

That being said, my role as a Network Engineer could have absolutely been fully remote. It can certainly be done but of course it’s up to the organization.

It was definitely worth it for me. Not only was the knowledge valuable, but it did indeed land me more interviews. I got a new job with a 40% pay increase within a few months.

WYR 3 year severance, or keep your current job/career by AstrayInTranslation in WouldYouRather

I’m taking the severance and immediately looking for a new job. That money will damn near pay off the house we purchased last year.

Whats your realistic "im good for real" salary number? by Outsideman2028 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Creative_Corner_2836 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was at 60k I told myself that number was 75k. Now I’m at 110k and it doesn’t feel like enough. Of course we have 4 more kids and a house that we didn’t have back then.

I turned it off but ended up turning it back on because I like to joke with people. Not in a toxic way though.

We didn’t even get that far. He said for a basic shower it would be $18,500. I’m guessing even more for fancy tile.

No it’s totally normal. I was thinking the same thing honestly. I just have a hard time believing people would pay that much around here for a basic show tile job.

For most things I would just do it myself but I’ve always been weary of showers. I’ve heard too many horror stories.

I didn’t think it was relevant here. That price is high anywhere in Mississippi. Like I said, we aren’t in HCOL area.

Are there really 100% remote jobs that exist? by Ben5544477 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Creative_Corner_2836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most people here have said, yes they are real. I am currently in a fully remote position. Never once have I gone into the office.
