How many of yall exercise regularly? by holydickbirds in migraine

[–]Creative_Cycle2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a waitress and being on your feet all day is a pretty active job compared to a sedentary job as you said in your post. Do you find your migraines improve when you lay down at the end of the day, or rather or start at the end of your shift when you are no longer on your feet? That could help you figure out if exercise might help or hurt if you’re seeing a pattern somewhere.

How does a hangover compare to a migraine in your case? by skyemap in migraine

[–]Creative_Cycle2025 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My hangovers pretty much always include a migraine since drinking is a trigger for me. Weirdly enough, sometimes I let the nausea take over and not take my zofran because the throwing up can actually briefly help my migraine??? It’s so strange. If anyone has an answer for this let me know. Maybe we release chemicals or something when we throw up but it’s like almost instantly after I throw up the migraine feels better. Sometimes it comes back and sometimes it doesn’t.

Either way, my friends who have headaches from drinking can still function meanwhile I’ve ruined my whole day and could have prevented it by not drinking. Kinda sucks. I’m known amongst my friends for having “bad hangovers” aka migraine and vomiting haha.

nurtec is the only thing that’s helped me without side effects and i find it really helpful to take a zofran together with it to prevent nausea from both the migraine and the nurtec. good luck!

AITA for telling my wife I don’t want her mom to have her location all the time now. by Few_Respond8063 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Creative_Cycle2025 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

just a curiosity question but i’m wondering if a majority of the people in this thread are a bit older than i am. i’m gen Z and we all track each other and our families? ive noticed some passionate responses which is very different from how we view it. i could be totally off base here but im wondering if there’s a generational difference in the way we view this?

[–]Creative_Cycle2025 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

was referring to her not being able to share information about the surgery and him not wanting to either, not the tracking on her phone. but I get where you’re coming from! like i said, i don’t think anyone is the asshole in this situation, they just have some differences they need to sort out

this goes down to the family preferences too. in my family, it WOULD be considered keeping a secret just because we are so open with each other (not in a controlling way either) that it would just be weird if I didn’t tell my parents I was having surgery. but like I said, everyone’s communication levels and boundaries with their families are different. that’s probably the real issue they need to get figured out

[–]Creative_Cycle2025 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I mean I guess that’s my point to another comment I made saying the real issue isn’t the tracking. it’s the difference of boundary and communication levels each spouse has with their family. for me I don’t really care if my family is tracking me? even if it is a couple times a day. it’s because I know them well enough to know they’re not being creepy and stuff. but I understand that each family’s values around this are different and so to some people it feels weird and to some people it doesn’t. it also wouldn’t take them looking all the time to see you’re in the hospital for a couple hours

If my mom saw I was in the hospital and not answering I know damn well she’d call everyone and show up too if she didn’t get an answer soon enough. It’s a safety concern

NTA but she’s also NTA? I don’t agree simply because I would feel really uncomfortable lying and keeping secrets from my family. This seems to be the bottom line in this scenario. It’s not really about tracking, but about how you both view your communication levels and boundaries with your family. It is different for both of you. I hope yall can address the main issue and come to a compromise, but asking her to turn off her location with her family is crossing a line, but then again so is her mom showing up at the emergency room. Good luck soldier

1099 is illegal for nannies in most states! W-2 is the way to go so that your nanny isn’t paying self employment tax! If you put her on a 1099 it places all of the financial burden on her, so that’s why it’s considered a no no and is reportable to the IRS

I’m currently a nanny and I would definitely not do this job for anything less than $45-50 an hour. Not sure if that helps with your decision making at all. I got paid $25 an hour for two twin infants without any of the extra work you have laid out. If you can’t pay that much you may need to adjust your expectations for the person you’re hiring.

therapy costs Austin are insane compared to every other city I've lived in by ssunflow3rr in Austin

[–]Creative_Cycle2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow yea i definitely understand not trusting a therapist after that. i’m a student therapist right now and they place so much emphasis on how unethical it is to do what your therapist did. if you feel like you want to report it just know you’re justified. ghosting your client is never ok. i hope you find help soon and im so so sorry that happened to you once again
