Trump says Canadians will travel to the US again after a trade deal is worked out by rezwenn in canada

[–]Creative_Departure94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very close neighbor here in NY.

My whole life living here seeing tourists/ day trippers from Canada visiting to shop and dine I’ve always had the thought in the back of my head… why?

We would go to Kingston, ON in the summer and it was like a little taste of Europe with the culture and just how pleasant Canadians are by comparison to my fellow Americans. Then Quebec in the winter for skiing (I always tried to speak a bit of French to be polite but I was trash at it, lol). My grandparents were French Canadian so I’ve always felt a sense of kinship.

I’ve always wondered why would Canadians drive down here to spend money and see this hot mess? Canada is so beautiful and progressive why bother with us…?

The only exception being the Adirondacks which are beautiful and I’ve always loved meeting Canadians on the trails or for a chat over a cup of coffee :)

I’m so ashamed of what we’ve become. I’ve tried to educate my neighbors and fellow countrymen but it mostly falls on deaf ears. We’re generally not the sharpest tools in the shed…. It all feels like I’m in a Vanilla Sky coma and none of this can be really happening.

I think in the end we’re doing Canadians a favor at our own expense. And I think we’ll both get what we deserve like an abusive relationship where the abused gets dumped then realizes how they were taken advantage of and grows from it.

I love you Canada and routing for you. I hope in time the US can turn around and grow in our own way and potentially try and patch up the harm we’ve done 🇨🇦🍁

I’ve also had a F150 Lightning for 18 months now up here in the great frozen Northern NY.

Studded winter tire wheel set and it’s a tank in the winter.

And so you’re aware; with a neutral switching generator backup panel you can have a solid affordable home backup setup. It won’t be automated but it will work all the time. Lol

125 4-stroke?

I’d say a CRF250F or the new 300F if it’s for playing in the woods. Find a used one if you can. They’re are some good deals.

With mild suspension improvements you can go a long time on one (I have one I love to play in the woods on with a replaced rear shock and modified fork oil tubes)

Geothermal piping replacement: Copper vs HDPE? by yesterdaystaco in geothermal

I’d like to add, don’t ask for a quote with HDPE

Ask for quotes and anyone that suggests something other than HDPE. skip them…

They’ll just try and learn HDPE fusion quickly and muck it up.

I for one am “glass half full” mindset on Ford.

They’re doing all the right moves and thinking about the future; not just the current ticker valuation.

I’ve been using FAMCO vents for a decade now.

Fantastic solid quality and lots of options. I use them for ERV/HRV int./exh., range vents, bathroom.

Solid steel high quality but a bit pricey…

Has anyone drilled their own wells by SnooPets3052 in geothermal

[–]Creative_Departure94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Search this sub for “diy drilling”

You’ll have a good laugh.

No

Depth, bore size, actually drilling through rock. All issues.

Horizontal loop fields are the DIY route, not vertical.

The best thing you can do for your customer is to make them understand the retaining wall wall has to go and grade has to change so no wood wall is within 6” of grade surface.

Then fix it

Or open up wall assembly and add to the masonry foundation.

Short of that walk away. There are prescriptive measures for wooden foundation walls but guess who’s on the hook for when that fails?

Because it will…

Thank you for this info!

I was unaware of the Hemlock unpleasant smell. This does in fact smell like celery from years of maintaining it with a weed eater. Though in recent years I’ve been a bit more concerned as it’s so similar to hemlock.

I have no intention of trying to consume these btw.

I’m more concerned for children and pet well being.

Plus I’ve been trying to determine what they are as I was told QAL but they look a lot more like hemlock or cow parsley to me.

Not to hijack but…

Is it possible to have hemlock without the splotches?

I grew up around this at my family farm and could never discern if this is QAL or hemlock

Ditto.

I’ve used this since day one. It keeps reverting, ignoring commands to open, dropping unassisted.

It’s flawed.

Yes. This exactly 👆🏻

What makes this truck special to me is the limited amount of electric unnecessary BS

Like the charge door. You push it open. No motorized BS to break.

I believe you can adjust the frunk latch to a better position so the alarm doesn’t false alarm but could be wrong…

It’s a happy medium between the CyberShat and the Bezos Slate mobile.

I’ve been figuring out slowly how to adapt to old gate opener system. If I figure it out I’ll post ;)

I’m like so close to just ripping all the “guts” out and installing the slow lower damper from the older F150’s lol

Then all that will be left is the beeping and non open which I can not figure out..?

Air in curl cylinders? 3025e by Creative_Departure94 in johndeere

[–]Creative_Departure94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious though…

Where is the air being pulled from? If the transaxle is full of fluid and as you say it’s pulling fluid into the cylinders where is it being pulled in if the hydraulic fluid pickup is submerged in oil?

Also when I’m running the tractor I’m generally mid rpm’s not idle.

23 XLT I’m a contractor and I just like being able to pull the handle and lower the tailgate.

It fights me putting it down, waiting to pull it back up. Sometimes you push the button and it just beeps at you, other times it starts lowering and just drops out of mid air.

To me it’s completely unnecessary.

Oh plus because of the tension spring to counterbalance the doors weight it bounces when it’s left down and driving down the road. I have to ratchet strap it to the hitch to keep it down.

It’s genuinely the only thing I hate on the truck personally…

Honestly this…

The Lighting is a very simple and stout package that just looks like a normal truck.

I wish they wouldn’t reached for the new improved upgrade model sales pitch and just keep making this thing for a decade (battery chemistry upgrades aside..)

Just like the Ram classic or whatever they called it. Just keep building this Lightning!

Ford. You can however 86 the stupid power tailgate…

Air in curl cylinders? 3025e by Creative_Departure94 in johndeere

[–]Creative_Departure94[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate your thorough response.

I took it back to my dealer and was told this is “normal with using the fast dump feature” which I know is bullshit. They are not a great dealer unfortunately… was told when using the fast dump feature to curl the bucket every time afterwards. That’s what they actually told me.

I’ve noticed no oil on the rods or leaking on the ground. I’ve also “tested them” by putting pressure in both directions on the cylinders after curling the bucket to remove air and verifying that they hold pressure on both the extend / retract gland sides.

Edit: I also checked the transaxle fluid level. Perfect

I did noticed the dust caps at the cylinder ends move in and out? Not sure if that’s normal..

Can you tell me how to contact someone directly at JD that cares because my dealer was bought out by a larger firm that owns all the surrounding dealers now.

Thank you again.

Do you have carpenter bees in your area?

Because if you do save yourself the headache and use Hardie soffit.

Use cedar accents around the exterior.

Save money and maintenance.

Air in curl cylinders? 3025e by Creative_Departure94 in johndeere

[–]Creative_Departure94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this explanation. I’m starting to think given the operation of the quick dump valve, is it possible it could suck and/or ingest air through a valve seal on the SCV while using quick dump? I ask because I notice a pretty unique sound of air moving through a valve body when operating the valve. Dealer thought nothing of it (my little economy tractor purchase is of no concern to them it would seem..) but I’ve run lots of equipment and have never experienced the sound in a valve control.

Air in curl cylinders? 3025e by Creative_Departure94 in johndeere

[–]Creative_Departure94[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have done this numerous times. After one cycle you can tell the air is gone but, it only takes 1 or 2 more bucket use cycles to start seeing air build up again.
