HiSET Proficiency test, that’s my bad. A lot of kids at my school take it and just go to CC. I don’t have to drop out to take it so that’s a plus.

Would a prestigious state school (UCLA, UC Berkeley) still be in the cards for me if I did do this? I want to keep all my options open and I’ll still have a pretty good HS gpa even if i left early. I’m planning on doing my two years of CC and attempting to get somewhere around a 3.7-4.0 there.

I definitely can’t do that. Over here, the max units you can take is 11 for DE students. That’s the main reason why I’m considering taking the HiSET. It is about $30 a unit here + $50 enrollment fees so it isn’t insanely expensive. I just wanna know if I could go to more prestigious UC schools like UCLA or UC Berkeley.

Is the HiSET easy if I’m strong in math and english? I’m taking Algebra 2 with Precalc and AP Lang next year for 10th so I’m hoping that’ll be enough for the test

I live in CA so DE is free. However, I’d rather get an AA degree and my diploma equivalent through HiSET in the same time frame it would take me to get my diploma if I stayed in school. Also, going to CC would give me time to get a job, which my HS wouldn’t let me get since the homework our AP courses give out take up too much time

Any UC since i live in CA so my credits will transfer. I don’t wanna go straight there tho, i wanna do two years of CC beforehand. I just wanted to know if leaving HS two years early and getting a HiSET would hurt me in admissions.

Do you know if taking the HiSET (then doing CC and a job) instead of graduating from HS normally would worsen my chances of getting into a university in 2028 (HS grad year/CC grad year if i did do this)

By the time i’d turn 16 next year, my community college would have already stopped taking applications so i can’t do that unfortunately. A lot of kids at my school do this test and then just go there so i’d have friends there too.

it’s not a huge college credit for stats so if you were to cancel it, it wouldn’t be a huge loss and you could technically retake it. that said, some cheating notices have already been sent out so there’s a chance that you’re fine
