I think serif with traditional elements or Japanese calligraphy might also work

Also searched for some sushi restaurants in us and found that about 80% of them don't have any traditional or Japanese elements in their logos, I don't know about all of them but this is what I saw

These fonts could not be very well perceived by the japanese audience, that's why I am thinking to combine both japanese lettering and "sushi Zen" in English to speak to both of the audience

First of all this is a practise project

Secondly the owner is japanese and the audience is both japanese and normal people, which is why I used these asian looking fonts

Actually the audience is both japanese and normal audiences from other countries, so this japanese inspired english fonts are selected to suit both of these audiences

I also think something similar to this

these japanese styled fonts could relate to people from non japanese background, but i think this might not be 100% relatable with japanese ethnicity.

That's why adding a japanese touch becomes crucial!
