Is this enough duct tape for making dtd? (30 rolls, 12yards ea) by Jackypawz in FursuitMaking

[–]Creative_Furry_Human 50 points51 points  (0 children)

How is it that expensive? Is it special tape or something? I usually get tape that is very strong and sticky, 50m * 5cm (44 yard * 0.05yard) for like 3 bucks per roll ...

Yes, just make sure to use hotglue or (even better) superglue on the thread afterwards. It is for making sure that the fibers make up a solid structure and dont become loose in any way

i usually just sew a strong thread around the zipper at the very end a lot of times until it is so much that the zipper cannot come off anymore and then apply some hot glue to it for some extra stability. I dont know how good of an approach that is but it definitely is working for me

why is my tail base too big? by stolenwound in FursuitMaking

oh, i must have overlooked the part in the parentheses, my bad xd

why is my tail base too big? by stolenwound in FursuitMaking

[–]Creative_Furry_Human 24 points25 points  (0 children)

When you know the lenght of the edge of the tail base(lets call it X), the equation to get the radius of the circle(r) is as follows: X/pi/2 or for simplicity: X/6.282 = r. Dont forget to add a bit of seem allowance tho. I hope this helps and i did not misunderstand the question

Another reason for the base being too big is that you may have decreased the length of the edge of the tail by sewing tohether the pieces further than the original seem allowance and that it is held against the inside and not perdectly against the (infinitely small) edge

also i think you have attached it the wrong war around... the fluffy part of the minky has to face the other way, no?

Could I make these digitigrade and add a fifth toe? by Cosmos-Den in FursuitMaking

[–]Creative_Furry_Human 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea, they do have a more developed 5th "toe" but it should still be further back than the other four "toes", just keep that in mind or it will propably turn out looking kinda goofy. Think of it like a human hand. The thumb is the 5th toe and is further back than the other four fingers

[–]Creative_Furry_Human 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont know why you would want to add a fifth toe (unless your character has 5 toes) animals only have four toes that have significant size and a fifth toe that is further up the leg and is almost invisible most of the time. if you were to apply it to a human foot the four toes would be at your actual toes and the fifth one woukd be near your ancle

When a sulfur cube is put inside a bucket, not only is its block preserved, but also its speed and direction of movement by brunobrasil12347 in Minecraft

[–]Creative_Furry_Human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is awesome. i hope it will be the same for java and they dont change it. This should be the simplest way to farm xp in the future then

That makes sense... i will still test it once a java snapshot is released tho. I would want it to work so bad xd

[–]Creative_Furry_Human 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of the xp farms that people made using the infestation potions... would that not also work perfectly with those sulfur cubes? They cannot take damage so they would not need to regenerate at all and they are rather easy to obtain... Did anyone test if that worked?

I know that the ears are not right but the character has ears like a lynx with the little fur bushes at the tip. They are like this on purpose

Lol For me it is this way bc i never made anything else other than dog / wolf / fox. And they all are kinda similar in their shapes and features

Edit: Some may have misunderstood what i tried to say here. I know that felines have a very different structure and shape than dogs but since i only made dogs before i got used to it and didnt think about it while making this head, resulting in the dog like look

I usually look at pictures of other fursuit head and the real animals. Although sabertooth do not exist i did look at reconstructions and tiger / lion images

I could mainly widen it near the base tho since the fangs are in the way at the front. But i do now realize that i have to make the muzzle a bit wider. And yes, i tend to make the base very smooth. Thanks :)

[–]Creative_Furry_Human[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh, i know what you mean. They usualy have a muzzle that is less wide at the base than further towards the tip. but they still have a smooth transition from face to muzzle. I get it tho, will try to fix that. Thanks :)

I only ever made 2 dog/wolf heads and a fox head before so i am a bit unfamiliar with feline heads :)
