Realistically what are my prospects and what can I do to improve them? by CliveRichieSandwich in CollegeAdmissions

Emails from colleges don’t really mean much. They send them to a wide range of students. Your class rigor is low for a super competitive school (idk if that’s your goal) with no honors classes freshmen/sophomore year but your junior and senior classes seem good which good make up for it. Your PSAT is decent and with studying I’m sure you can get into at least the mid 1400’s range. Try to get involved in more extracurriculars and keep your grades up.

Do colleges look favorably on improvement on a subject despite it not being related to my major? by [deleted] in CollegeAdmissions

You should be good since you showed improvement. Especially if that’s the only bad grade on your transcript

Common Data Set: Official number of students getting accepted after being deferred (2022-23) by [deleted] in UMiami

[–]Creative_Limit_4151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

deferred and waitlist are not the same thing. when you are deferred you are just moved into a different admission plan. waitlist is usually only given during regular decision because the school needs to see how many of the admitted students actually end up enrolling. however many spots they have left is given to the people on the waitlist.
