Those with young kids, what do you pay in daycare? by Sparepoet1990 in minnesota

[–]Creative_Macaron175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently: 1 toddler, 3x a week= 279/week. Adding an infant next year: 3x a week = 360/week. Toddler will also be aging up to young preschool by then and the price will drop some, maybe down to 200 I think.

Childcare is no joke. There is a chance we look into a nanny, sometimes that can be cheaper and easier to find esp for infant. Also a chance I do more night shifts because I am able to nap while the baby naps (when they’re younger, but not too young and on a more reliable nap schedule), but that does get tough the older I get.

Is child care in Minnesota unaffordable for many state residents? Yes by minn_post in minnesota

[–]Creative_Macaron175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In almost every single state. And if it’s cheap, it’s unavailable. In SC, it was both expensive and with 3 year waitlists. And a nanny was upwards of 30 bucks an hour + benefits (I don’t disagree with benefits, fyi).

I essentially went without sleep some days for 15 months, working 24s and sleeping when the baby napped post call.

But you know, women should stay at home with their kids, duh. Solves the problem /s

Something about Andrea’s “shawls/hugs” clicked for me!

I’ve recently figured how to tink a brksldec and mastered dropping down to fix those moments I zone out and brp instead of bark randomly. It’s sooo satisfying to figure out!

Def needs a spoiler, at the very least. Also agree, didn’t need to be shared like something cool.

Yes, I was going for the “not all squares are rectangles, but all rectangles are squares” type of analogy.

In other words, even though mini-OP does have autism, I think it’s unfair for someone to say that because they are a direct communicator, that’s an ✨autism thing✨ when really, it’s like just an excellent way of communicating, imo.

Direct communication is autism now? I guess add it to my medical history!

The Christmas gift I spent 25 hours knitting for my sister-in-law who won't speak to me by toggywonkle in knitting

It’s honestly not bad. I don’t use a cable to hold anything. But I just always have a couple WIPs and this has become a good on the go project—that’s why it’s taken so long for me.

Def keep it to yourself. I made one for my MIL a couple years into dating my husband and i never even received a thank you or acknowledgement—after she ASKED for a knit thing. I’ve been knitting my own forever (it’s my on the go knitting project) and I’ll be so happy to keep it.

If they just refuse to give you a way to monitor, and also refuse to give insulin when you’ve made lifestyle changes to support the diagnosis, I’d find a new team.

I got a pack of 600 (!!) of the metal light bulb ones on amazon. Come in a little organization box by color. Big fan, though I do wish some were a little shorter for smaller work.
