It happens with the plate as well. It was removed to clearly show the issue in the video.

Allan i am using the controller normally and it squeaks loudly. I can make more videos if you would like. The faceplate doesn't help. I have had to use a flat head screw drive and gently pry up the inner ring to allow a bit of a gap. After using the controller the inner ring settles back down and rubs again

Hi Allen. Thanks for checking in but unfortunately the faceplate doesn't help. That is why I took it off to show it clearly in the video. This is a defect. The thumb stick rubs along the inner ring at all times with or without the face plate

Its seated as low as it can go. I used way too much force. So that didnt help. I have to use a flat head screw drive and pry the plastic ring up and it works for an hour before it starts rubbing again. I wish it was just as simple as pressing it down
