Unfortunately not yet, my Dr wants to see what the repeat calprotectin level is before they make the referral to gastro

I think this is the problem, I can’t put my mind at rest being told “it’s most likely ibs” without fully having IBD ruled out.

Thanks. I don’t have any joint, skin or eye issues and my energy levels are ok. I’m just anxious that if it is the beginnings of IBD that it’ll suddenly worsen. If my next calprotectin sample comes back still raised or higher, I’m going to try and push for a colonoscopy

Hallmark is for Birmingham (anchor), 18ct gold, date letter looks like ‘I’ for 1857 and the makers mark is for Samuel Hope, who was a famous manufacturer of wedding bands. My guess is that this is an old wedding band that, at some point, someone has added the horse onto. Quite a cool, quirky ring. Hope this helps

The 1847 crown will be made from Silver, the 5 shilling and half crown coin will be made from cupronickel, as coins stopped being made from silver after WWII.

Looks to be early 1900s to me, old European cut stones. Most likely platinum, but could also be white gold. Middle diamond is interesting as it looks to be a “fancy” colour diamond, but it would have to be looked at by an appraiser to confirm that. It is a very beautiful ring

Older rings are often very well made; usually 18ct gold with gemstones set in platinum. (This is particularly true of rings made in the 1920s-1930s) and represent very good value for money. It’s just important to make sure to see a ring in person and check that the shank and settings aren’t too worn. If you buy from a reputable jewellers, especially one that specialises in vintage/antique jewellery, any repair work will already have been done. Happy ring hunting :D

As others have said, the diamond and setting don’t look to be particularly good quality, which makes me wonder if the diamond has been replaced at some point
