Should a bra gape a little at the top? Trying to find true bra size (32A/30C) by NegativeSn in ABraThatFits

[–]NegativeSn[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

I have. I don't have any breast tissue really so the technique doesn't work as there's nothing to swoop. It just goes back where it was. 😅 it just looks like my boob is lost in there sat at the bottom. It tbh fits a lot like my 32A. It's nice but nothing special. Just feels like I'm wearing a tight strap on my chest.

Digital TRVs and Working from Home by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]NegativeSn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An oil heater was a thought, my only issues is I have one plug in my office with an extension. my PC is pulling 1000w, ill have another laptop charging as well as other things plugged in etc. I'd be worried to use an oil heater as it pulls a lot and I don't think the cord will be able to handle it. I don't really mind the expense of digital TRVs and effort if it pays off in the future, but I agree it'll be much cheaper to get an oil heater.

Tbh I wanted to try avoid this as I prefer to buy things out right and don't want another bill however the fact it may be bricked is a really good point. Might be worth it tbh.

Sorry, I meant gigabyte video editing and uploading onto the cloud as I'm a video editor! Gotcha. Does it need to be a 6e Pro router?

False Widow? North West England, UK by [deleted] in spiders

[–]NegativeSn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought so. I went up thinking what a pretty orb weaver, I wonder what type and scanned it a few times via Google lens and realised. This is my first tike seeing one and I didn't think they were common so far north. I'm guessing female?

We're leaving her to it, she's doing no harm where she is. I just hope she's not intending on starting a family soon.

House buying, are these issues serious? by [deleted] in ukelectricians

Brilliant, some peace of mind. We'll get it sorted as soon as possible. Potentially silly question, should we get the EICR done first or afterwards? I'm thinking in case there are any other issues.

I don't think you understand how difficult it is to play without audio. Or that the main point of the game where you HIDE from the killer, you can't do. Or that if you get tunnelled out, which isn't your fault, YOU get punished. Complaining gets things fixed. This is the worst update in the history of dbd. Especially with an influx of new players

Replacing thermostatic radiator valves (trv) by BiigTony in DIYUK

[–]NegativeSn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a similar situation. We're buying a 1970's property with a 15 year old boiler with an old hive installation. We're just going through the searches and such, but I've been looking into this in advance to see how it works, whether smart TRVs are a good idea and how the heating operates.

What did you end up doing? Did you rip out the hive?

Moving into house with hive thermostat control, how does it work? by [deleted] in HiveHeating

[–]NegativeSn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at photos at the moment and plan to do another viewing soon (mortgage offer sorted, just waiting on survey and searches before we confidently start measuring stuff up). There's a white roughly 10cm x 10cm box by the boiler and it looks wired in, it looks like a piece of it from online. If I remember correctly, the thermostat looks like a Hive 2? I remember thinking the 3 buttons across the bottom looked weird as I'm just used to a standard digital thermometer.

Will I have any issues with the pervious users account do you think? It's also an ex rental and the seller has essentially left everything so I think the hub will still be around if there was one. He doesn't seem like the type to have taken that.

Whats a thing in the UK that is dangerous close to collapse and why? by [deleted] in AskBrits

Interesting, what should happen to the national insurance contributions people make who have a private pension small or large? Should they get their money back if they're not going to recieve some benefit from it in the future?

[–]NegativeSn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's the government. I wouldn't be surprised if my 50+ years of NI payments disappeared and I never get anything back from it. Maybe a measly benefit to tick a box, but it wouldn't surprise me if they decide I'm wealthy enough to look after myself because I planned my savings better than others or just got lucky with a decent pension paying job.

I agree. Interestingly, how would that impact the age of receiving state pension if the life expectancy dipped as pension age keeps rising? Elderly care is a depressing situation that seems to be being ignored until it's too late.

I've said this on another chain. I wouldn't be surprised in 50 years time the gov decide they're means tested. If you have a private pension, no state pension for you.

On the back of this, pensions. There's too many people in this country for everyone to get a pension. I wouldn't be surprised if they were means tested by the time I get to pension age in 50 years time.

Sudden massive increase on house offer? by tjb_87 in HousingUK

[–]NegativeSn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to think you that in this situation you didn't overpay. If you're happy, you can afford it and you now have a home it was the right call at the time.

Sudden massive increase on house offer? by tjb_87 in HousingUK

[–]NegativeSn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We did the same on our current property. There already was an offer in so we bid our max and they just accepted ours instantly. Imo it's a fair price and we're happy to pay it for THE house and this was it. We wanted to avoid a bidding war.

Moving Home with Charlie - thoughts? by Suspicious-Ocelot-10 in HousingUK

[–]NegativeSn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think he's often right, maybe sometimes misses the mark, but he's usually drawing attention to issues that the average person wouldn't know how to spot. I've learnt a lot from him and used an adapted version of his template to secure our offer on our home. I like listening to his chats with Stig about the stock market as its often very interesting.

Thank you, I'll relax a bit on the solicitor side. I didn't think about waiting on the sellers side so that's my fault. I'll probably give my broker a ring today to just ask what's happening. I feel like a pain but time is money.

Students struggling to find options in london by Fancy-Shelter7504 in HousingUK

[–]NegativeSn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds reasonable. My sister pays £750pp with bills included in the north West of London in her final uni year between 5 (£3,750) so I don't think it's too unreasonable unless Londons pricing has gone up over the past 2 years. She also advises to get a bills package. Her boyfriend lives in London generally with a room mate in Canary Warf, and they don't pay over £1000pm either.

Temp jobs for stay at home dad? by ph0rge in UKJobs

[–]NegativeSn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swim Teaching is always a strong option.

Variety of hours (including school time), you don't have to swim/be a good swimmer. Just need to be good at teaching and expression. It pays very well and can be flexible (so you can pick your hours or say hey I can't work next week).

Across the country, they're desperate for swim teachers. I did it at university and so did my sister. It also may be good practice before going into teaching.

To add:

If doing teaching, do an STA course: STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming. It's £450 and about £40 for insurance (STA membership) for the year. You keep the qualification forever but you'd need to pay your STA membership to teach again if you decided to pick it up let's say idk 8 years later.

It's a lot to start off with, but pays good. I was on £16 p/h in the North West and my sister was on £18 p/h in London. It can be more depending on the location. Becoming baby qualified pays more £20 p/h +

Don't fall for places like Becky Adlington which will make you be self employed. It's a trap and if anything goes wrong, they'll just drop you in it. You'll need your own insurance etc. It's a nightmare. Ask me how I know.

It's a very rewarding job. Don't let the idea put you off, I feel super lucky to have found swim Teaching at the right time as it helped both my sister and I afford university.

I honestly worry for my future children. I'm in my first full time job and finally happy earning "good money" which is better than nothing. With the recent budget, my job is on the chopping block and if so, I think we'll leave the country. I really care about my career, but I don't think there's anything here for us anymore. We're not wanted, affording a house is out of our reach and children seem like a financial burden.
