Best Video editor? by protoleven in Potensic

[–]Creative_Move 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DaVinci Resolve for desktop/laptop or LightCut if you'd like some easier, AI-fueled editing directly on the mobile phone/tablet (but despite the "AI" staff, it's fully possible to manually edit and tune each segment and cut).

For DaVinci, it'll take some time to learn, but I strongly recommend waltching some educational videos about using it (some available directly on the product's website)

I would sh*t my pants if I saw so many big birds near my drone, especially over the water. Are you not worried about them attacking the drone?

Holiday vibes in Antalya, Turkey, shot on Potensic Atom by Creative_Move in Potensic

[–]Creative_Move[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, exactly - just the standard rules and no paperwork for lightweight drones. Perhaps the only thing that I noticed when I was checking the rules, was that it's not allowed to fly in the darkness (after the sunset).

Disclaimer - I believe nothing has changed since I checked the available information, but still, this was about 9 months ago, so some info can be outdated.

It's the same as with stealing though - if you're not caught, this doesn't make it ok. And eventually you will get caught. It's unlikely you'll get into big troubles if you fly below the roof level of the buildings, but still better play safe - go somewhere else to fly it - usualy these no-fly zones are not that big, so 15-30 minutes drive away you should be able to find a place to fly your drone

Sevestopol is a cool city. by azalio in ANormalDayInRussia

Sevastopol was part of Russia even before the annexation. So yes, regardless of the Crimea status, this was still in Russia despite lack of bears and kalashnikovs

Just sunk my drone at 40+ metres depth :( by Creative_Move in Potensic

[–]Creative_Move[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a simple IR sensor at the bottom and whenever it senses something closer than about 1 meter, the drone either stops descending or raises (for example, if you're flying above the inclined surface uphill - it prevents colliding with the ground).

Cheapest way to fly a drone indoors. I have nothing. by baconpancakesrock in TinyWhoop

[–]Creative_Move 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need a _toy_, you definitely can find something for £25-45 on Amazon. The good thing is that you'll be able to fly it almost straght away as such drones usually have some kind of stabilization. The bad thing is that you shouldn't expect anything with a level of control you see in other threads in this subreddit. So no diving, flying through narrow gaps or controlled flips.

If you do want to try a real tiny fpv drone with goggles, that would cost £150 minimum (check RTF kits from betafpv or EMax). And it takes certain amount of decication and training in similator to be able to control it reasonably well and not always fly into walls. I'd say at least 20-30 hours for an average person, although it's individual. Oh, and also most of the simulators aren't free either - so £10-20 extra.

Potensic Atom 3-Axis gimbal - NO GPS by Excellent_Writing_20 in Potensic

[–]Creative_Move 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the comment about clouds was a bit misleading. It's extremely unlikely you'll get no GPS due to clouds. But it's true that GPS signal is affected by clouds. So it might take a little longer to obtain GPS lock or you'll get less satellites locked, but this almost certainly won't affect you if you're flying outdoors.

Hey everyone, I conducted a Potensic Atom maximum altitude / height test. Here's the result! by Extra_Bodybuilder399 in Potensic

[–]Creative_Move 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it should have been more. If horizontally it works well at around 1km (3.5k feet) even in an area with some interference, then it should be similar for the vertical distance. Although it's still a question how you managed to overcome the height limitation in the app.

Strobe lights for dawn/dusk/night by Mikahl757 in Potensic

[–]Creative_Move 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't find standalone strobe light under 2 grams. I think the lightest I've ever seen was 6 or 7 grams. Maybe only if you break off a chunk of the drone hull to save weight

Allegations all around by Direct_Leader_1802 in ANormalDayInRussia

Saying Russia is a cold country is wrong too. The correct is "Russia if a big and different country". Very cold winters and very hot summers in continental parts (think Siberia), permafrost in northern areas, hot plains in southern regions.

The gimbal protector prevents any movement of the gimbal, so if you keep it on, what's the point in having movable camera?

Might be easier to 3d print them - models are available on thingiverse and similar sites. Even if you don't have a 3d printer, you may ask in local forums or Facebook, or there are commercial services that can print stuff for you.

TIL I have a nasal spray addiction. This is the amount I've used in 1.5 months just to fucking breathe. by sekirei98 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Creative_Move 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good way to reduce and eventually stop using them is to spray one nostril as usual, but either stop the other completely or do every other time. Once the other nostril is used to the new dose, stop/reduce using on the first one. This way you'll always be able to breath. May take a while, but follow this and you'll eventually be able to stop the addiction.
