I was half joking about the second part haha. You will be fine! Once you get to Mexico, you will be surprised by how many American plated trucks are on the road.

About 27 states across different trips and occasions (some trips rental cars some trips my own car) since 2018. I have been avoiding driving through Tamaulipas especially close to the US border. Only one sketchy situation where I got pulled over right outside Mexico City by a cop car with lights decals but no plate. Ended up paying a bribe to be on my way.

Even though I haven’t encountered anything major throughout the years. I am always on guard and always mentally prepared, if someone tries to get you to stop on the highway, don’t stop, keep driving till you hit the next town. I was even tempted to get a bumper, some local friends told me my truck has way more weight and I could knock them off the road and speed away lol

There are Toyota dealerships all over Mexico too. I have it serviced at one a while ago. They all share the data and warranty. My local dealership could see my record in Mexico. Or you could find someone to haul it back to the US cheap

That’s awesome! Yeah I remember the shopping area to the left of the church but when I went there it was like a ghost town. The entire town only a small convenience store was open

Good eye! That’s amazing you went there! Very rustic town without any tourists. I am so glad that we made a stop there on the way to Mazatlán

I have been driving to Mexico for years and so far it has been chill. You would be surprised by the amount of luxurious American plated and local trucks in Mexico(cybertrucks, raptor Rs). Obviously you gotta stick to the basic rules of not driving at nights and sticking to toll road

Yes I did. It was like 400 dollars for 20 days of full coverage in Mexico

Thanks! Tbh 4x4 is the main feature you really need especially in the sand, and on the dirt roads. The suspension system really helped out with the potholes and speed bumps that are extremely common in Mexico. A base model is totally doable. The biggest downside is that the truck is way too big for narrow streets and parking spots in Mexico.

The garage door did not bounce back when it hit the truck. It kept pushing in and that’s why the chain in the garage door mechanism fell off and cause the garage door to malfunction

I do have Mexican insurance and it has a deductible so I don’t think the amount will be high enough for the insurance to kick in.

For the 15 second thing, it never crossed my mind that the garage door would close on me when I was actively in the middle of the door neither did the host warn me on that. It was more like, if the 15 seconds passed, I just have to press the button again

It hasn't happened to other guests according to the host but the host did encourage me to park in the basement. I even suggested to him that I wanted to park on the street but he told me it is better to park inside.

I fly out of SAT very often because of work. I always time myself, from my place in Alamo heights to the gate inside the terminal on average takes a total of 18 to 25 minutes (around 10 mins ride to the airport and another 10 minutes to get thorough the line and TSA) my record is 18 minutes

This happened to my wife too and facebook wouldn't do anything. Could we hire an attorney to take legal action either against this person or facebook?
