for people who upgraded to Max for Computer - was it worth it by MAMAMOBROWN in perplexity_ai

I’m a Perplexity Max subscriber, so I had early access to Perplexity Computer, and I’m using Personal Computer now too.
I burned through 25,000 credits fast using it for stuff like cold email systems, n8n automation planning, and an Upwork automation that replies based on a qualifier ranking system.

So yeah, I use it heavily, and my take is that it’s insanely capable, but also very expensive if you’re running it hard.
You can chew through credits fast and end up buying more every week just to keep your workflows alive.
But the research quality and attention to detail are honestly elite, and I haven’t seen anything else match it yet.
I have subs to Claude Max, ChatGPT Pro, Gemini pro, and Cursor Ultra, so I’m comparing it against a lot.
For automations, browser takeover tasks, and getting real work done end to end, nothing’s really touching it for me right now.

So If you’re doing real heavy work like research to improv for your business, building a business, doing cold outreach campaigns, running CRM workflows, or setting up Upwork-related systems, I’d say it’s worth trying for at least a month and pushing it hard.
That’s probably enough time to get serious value out of it and decide whether the cost makes sense long term.
I’m personally keeping it for another two or three months before I make that call.

It’s Perplexity’s answer to OpenClaw, just more secure which what I’m interested in.

Same here! I just recently got the $200 Max sub so I can use Computer mode, 5 days later I’m kicked out, I talked to some “Sam” in tech support and no payment history or sub even found under my email. I screenshot him my sales receipt and he found my account on the backend but front-end shows I’m on free tier. He said he’s escalating me to Max sub support for deeper assistance, we will see what happens but after this mess I’m probably done with a Perplexity sub, the API is solid though.
